"We don’t do walk-ins. Our artists work in a private studio by appointment only. We’re not a shop where you drop by to price shop or pop in for a tattoo on a whim. We excel in taking care of our clients on an individual basis in an environment that is conducive to creating art of the highest standard. If you’re looking for a “competitive price” or customer service curtailed to fit the masses; we are not the shop for you. We aim to please the select few that are serious about their skin, not everybody. Our award winning artists are local boys that grew up in Montana; but have taken the time to expand their horizons and learned from some of the best tattooers all over the world and are respected on a international basis by their peers."

Don’t get me wrong, the receptionist was nice and the studio was very clean complete with private booths. I paid the deposit and was scheduled for May 16th. However I was rescheduled over 3 times over the course of 3 months. The third time it was rescheduled was an hour before the appointment was set up for, I didn’t understand as I drove an hour to get to Great Falls. I went ahead and cancelled after the third time as I didn’t want to get my hopes up again. I was told I’d get a refund for the deposit however have yet to receive it. It’d be a nice location to get a tattoo if you are able to get a set appointment.

Derricks did a memorial tattoo for me in honor of my aunt. I had 3 different elements, and he brought them together beautifully. He is light on the gun, and has incredible eye for detail. Level Up will be my go to tattoo place from now on.

This place seems great, but not worth the mental energy.
Dont get me wrong, the staff was wonderful and very kind, but I had scheduled an appointment a month in advance so I could get time off work to drive down from Bozeman to make the appointment at 1. Throughout the month, I was told I'd get an email 2 weeks out. Fast forward to 1 week away from the appointment, I get no email, so I reach out to them. I can not get ahold of anybody, from email or by calling them.
Fast forward to the day of, I have used all my vacation time, and they cancel the appointment 1 hour away from my schedule time.
I get things happen, I get that sometimes people are overscheduled and there is a lack of communication between coworkers. But if $100 is on the line, communication should be a huge thing with the client. So I would not reccomend.
Tl;dr
Pros: the shop is clean, people are nice.
Cons: no communication, and no way to reach out. You will not hear anything until the day of if you are lucky.
Edit: After a few hours from my first review, I had a nice conversation with Donna, and they really tried to make it right. While it is true communication needs improvement, they really do work for your best interests.

This company goes beyond Amazing tattoos. They give you the knowledge you need to know about every piece you get and where you should get it to have it last longest and look the best. They are not in the business of good tattoos they are in the business of beautiful art. I love talking to everybody there and they are only a quick phone call or text away for me. It would be a waste of money to get your tattoos anywhere else. I can't say enough good things about Level Up and there are not enough stars. Thank Your for all you guys do for me, I love every piece that I have gotten from you!!!

The best tattoo place in town! I've been coming here for a few years now. Derrick and Pablo are mind blowing artists. The shop is super clean and prices are great. Compared to other shops in town, Level Up is by far the best.
