Blue Horseshoe Tattoo and Piercing

If I could give this place zero stars I would. They overcharge for their tattoos (by a lot), and the work they do does not back up the prices they charge. I paid $180 for a line work tattoo, it was an easy enough tattoo, this was back in January. A month later, it looked so bad. The lines were uneven/fading and it looked sloppy. I’ve had enough tattoos to know how to take care of them. I love my tattoos and it’s important to me that I do all I can to preserve them and keep them looking as nice as possible. It’s extremely unfortunate I had to have another artist go behind them to fix it, especially within a year of having it done. I will say, they do offer free touch ups if you can provide a receipt, but I was so upset about it I will never set foot in this establishment again. I wouldn’t even let them touch me with a ball point pen. The artist, who I won’t name, was new at the time. I’m not even sure they’re still there anymore, and I get that they were still working on their skill. I have a hard time blaming the artist for how the piece turned out. My big problem is how much they charged me for the job that was done. I’m writing this review to give you a word of caution, they may over charge you.

Clean, excellent staff, and every artist is top notch! This is THE best body modification studio in Virginia Beach!

Update: 7/2/22: Great service! Staff was professional as always. Found out today that the VA Beach Blvd. location is moving. Will update as to when the move will be.

I went in as a walk in and got my tattoo drawn and done very quickly. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The facility itself was also kept very clean. I would recommend going here and hopefully will be able to go back soon.

Joe Hitt is an incredible tattooist! Got my first tattoo here and I can’t say I wanted anything differently. The process was painless and the needle machine was so quiet, so I didn’t have to hear an irritating buzz. Took about 35 minutes for something that looks like it took hours. Joe is also such a nice down to earth guy. I’ll definitely come again!

Seriously could not recommend this place more! Chessa did my tattoo and I’m in LOVE! Collaborating was so easy, payment was easy, getting the tattoo done was even easier! Making this my permanent tattoo spot for sure, I couldn’t imagine going else where. The quality of my tattoo was immaculate, the colors pop so well and so brightly. I’ve been getting non stop compliments, I 100% recommend them!

Very helpful! Love that their jewelry is all titanium or better and you have to ask for the lower quality stuff! Yuck! It is almost healed a month later where my nose that I got elsewhere I've had to get new jewelry and it's not healing like it should with proper care! I will keep going back to blue horse shoe for all my piercing needs!!!

Adam Hoye did my second lobe peircing. I wanted a very specific look because I have giant rose gold earrings for my wedding in 2 months. He listened and let me put the earrings in my first piercing and spaced everything perfectly. It was also clean and they had tons of options! Definitely listened to what I wanted!!!

They do tattoos and piercings here. I didn't realize how reasonable the prices for piercing were until we went to a place closer to our house where I had the same piercing done (on my other ear) and was charged twice as much! Not to mention, they other place didn't even include the after care package like BHS did.
Between my friends/family/self, we've had 8 tattoos done at BHS and have enjoyed all of them.
Just know, the weekends are their busiest times and if you don't have an appointment, you will most likely have a wait of a few hours before you will be seen. They make it easy though and let you go do something else in the meantime and call you when they're ready for you.
We'll definitely go back here for any piercings or tattoos we need.
