Really great service from the time I was on the phone and when I got there! My tattoo artist Jayme/Jamie was super nice and funny! He did perfect lines & a really good job! 10/10 I was a walk in and they took it right away.

Yesterday was my first experience with Folk City and they were great! Everyone was really cool and Jack did a phenomenal job and was gentle as possible! The price was very fair as well. I will be back to see Jack again!

In comparison to the other tattoo shops that I've been to around hampton roads, this is my favorite and this is the shop I suggest the most. My reason being is because they were one of the best quality, more detailed pieces I have and it turned out to be the cheapest in price. I have an eye on my right arm (realism) that I got from Blue Horseshoe and compared to the skull I got from Folk City, they are the same in size and detail difficulty, yet Folk City was 100 dollars cheaper. Also, I was recently at Ghost Ship and the tattoo I got there was simple, about the same size and still 50 dollars more expensive. But don't get me wrong, every shop I have been to was full of nice people that do great work.

After a terrible experience with an extremely rude artist in OBX, I was so relieved when I met EJ. He was friendly and knowledgeable and professional immediately. The entire staff at Folk City was. Chelsea at the front desk, Nate (who I believe is the owner), the other artists, everyone was nice and professional. It was also super hygienic and clean. EJ created a piece for me that is absolutely perfect. It's exactly what I wanted and I felt like he read my mind. Not that this is necessarily important, but I've gotten a TON of compliments on it too and I've been happy to tell people where I went and who did it. I will be back to see EJ very soon!!!

EJ did phenomenal, but I wasn't the least bit surprised. He's so dope I could've gave him 5 stars before he even started. He did a cover up on my awful tattoo from Greg's Tattoos and turned it into something I want to show off to everybody (see before and after pics). Every single line was measured and tattooed with precision, and that let me know how sincerely he cares about his clients. The sweet guy did not even want to charge me more than $250 despite the complexity of his work and the time required to do it.
Plus he gets bonus points because he is pretty cute lol.
