After doing a lot of research, I reached out to Snafu Tattoo because they have the most impressive realism portfolio I’ve seen in North Carolina. Liana was amazing to work with and designed my tattoo beautifully. She made sure that I loved it and really brought was I was thinking to life. It was even better than what I had in my head, which is exactly what should happen!

Jake is such a great artist, I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else for a tattoo. Not only is he a great visual artist, he is also very knowledgeable about tattooing. His lines are clean and heal perfectly. My tattoo looks amazing and I will be getting many more from him! The vibe in his shop is great, I am never bored while I’m there. I would recommend Snafu Tattoo to anyone looking for a one of a kind artistic piece.

Had SUCH a great experience at Snafu Tattoo! I was a little uncommitted to my tattoo choice, but Jake helped me explore a few options and ultimately pick the art I wanted. I was comfortable the entire time, the music selection was impeccable, and the conversation was top tier. I’m almost two weeks post and everything is healing beautifully.

Would definitely recommend going to Jake for your next tattoo— his portfolio and skill speaks for itself, the cost is fair, and the experience is a 10/10. 😀

Snafu Tattoo aka the best place to get tatted in this part of NC, hands down! If you're looking for black and white realism specifically, stop looking, Jake is your man. You can tell that Jake puts his heart and soul into every tattoo, will work to give you exactly what you want and to make sure you are comfortable throughout the appointment. A bonus, you get the studio to yourself for your appointment, so no rush in, rush out vibe here!

Snafu Tattoo is second to none. The whole process was amazing from start to finish. The tattoo within itself is flawless. When it comes to attention to detail, Jake carefully ensures that every aspect about to tattoo is flawless. I could not be happier with the design and the way the tattoo turned out. If you are in the greater Wilmington area, Snafu Tattoo is the only place you should go to.

Snafu tattoo is AMAZING. Jake is incredible at what he does, and so thorough in his work. His wife made the process of booking and paying seemless. My tattoo is also the coolest concept, a micro portrait of Edward Scissorhands! I’m so happy he was down for the task.

If you’re looking for a great tattoo studio that cares about the quality of work they put out look no further. The shop is clean and it’s not an intimidating environment like other tattoo studios that I’ve been to. Jake as an artist puts a lot of time and effort in listening to you as a client to make sure your tattoo is everything you want. The amount of detail he puts into your tattoo makes the tattoo experience even better. His lines are clean and when it comes to shading he can really bring a piece to life. I’m starting my right arm sleeve with Jake and I cannot wait for my next session! I highly recommend Snafu Tattoo Studio!

Jake is an absolute legend. Super clean and crisp tattoo work done. An incredible attention to detail. Very welcoming and chill environment. As well as being an all around awesome dude. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and am blown away by the work done. I’m looking forward to getting more work done with him in the future.

Jake is an amazing artist. I had 2 appointments for separate pieces in August and immediately scheduled 2 more asap after getting those done. The attention to detail he put into my ink was nothing less than what I would expect if he was tattooing himself and he takes a ton of pride in his work so you can be sure that you are walking out with nothing less than perfection. I have been looking for my go to artist since moving back to Nc and I can say without a doubt that it will be Jake.

Jake is amazing and incredibly talented. I started out wanting a small crown on the inside of my wrist, but the more I saw of his work and abilities the more confident I was to go bigger...and now half a half sleeve! His line work and attention to detail are impressive and I get compliments all the time. Not to mention, Jake and Liana are just all around awesome people. I refer everyone I can to him!

I have been to a few tattoo shops that felt crowded and dirty. What I love about Snafu Tattoo is that it feels bright and comfortable. I had sort of a last minute tattoo idea and Jake brought it to life. He took the picture I had from my phone and drew it up to my exact wants. Jake really makes sure that you LOVE what you are asking for and listens to any concerns you have. Also, best line work out of any of the artists I’ve been to.
