I can spit out a number of adjectives that can describe this place; the bottom line about this shop is inexplainable. Every artist is talented in their own right (I reccomend Nate,) the shop is well-beyond clean, they make you feel at home and they treat you like family. From a marketing standpoint, Key City is doing everything that tattoo shops in Frederick County aren’t: Charity fundraisers, scavenger hunts, raffles, an annual convention, walk-ins nearly every week and guest artists every month, if not more. I can’t wait for the convention in June!! Trust me, you don’t want to go anywhere else.

Submitted an online booking request on their website and was contacted promptly by James to make an appointment. From start to finish everything was clear, friendly and professional. I’ve bounced around to different shops the last ten years but I think I’ve finally found one place I will continue using. John Glessner did a fantastic job! Go see this man! He was receptive to what I was looking for and had some great ideas he contributed on his own. Not to mention he is an extremely talented artist. You can tell when you are there that they have a loyal client base and it’s no wonder they’ve won best in Frederick previously. I’d recommend pulling him up on Instagram. Thanks KCT!

Key City tattoo has a friendly, respectfull staff of artist who are always willing to work with you to get the right tattoo. They even run fun specials like the 100 dollar wall of tattoos or the tattoo gumball machine. I highly recommend them to anyone!

Lesson learned. I paid way too much for a poorly done tattoo that was rushed through. The whole thing was done in 10-15 minutes, does not resemble the stencil, and I definitely believe I was taken advantage of as far as pricing goes. I will say that the shop appeared clean and the atmosphere was positive.
