I was unfortunately unable to get a tattoo due to financial restrictions. You do beautiful work and rightly should be compensated well for it, simply want in the budget. The reason I felt compelled to leave a review despite that fact was one word, professionalism. From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed and throughout the process of looking at sample work and deciding what the best route to go I was treated with patience and respect. Amazing staff and when I have the money I will definitely be stopping back in. 10/10 will recommend.

Jordan did a phenomenal job and is just overall a wonderful person! She is an amazing artist and I'd highly reccomend her. All of the people seemed so down to earth and weren't full of themselves at all. Very talented artists and a great experience! I will return for any of my future tattoos.

Came in about an hour before closing with my cousin to get some piercings, John was very welcoming and informative even though I had to switch piercings last minute. Very quick and precise, and we love our new piercings! Will definitely be returning soon to get some tattoos done

Got my septum pierced not long ago and the artist struggled to get the ball on several times, finally getting it the ball came off 2 days later and not wanting to go back i ordered new jewelry online. the septum inevitably fell out so now i wasted $60
I understand it falling out was my fault, but the inability to tighten the septum and make sure it wouldn't be loose isn't.

I had a consultation with John and got a Medusa by tia and a removal of a bad piercing from another shop. No judgment and it was quick and she was very thorough. 10/10 would recommend for any piercing needs/wants

Review:
After nine (9) sessions of 4-6 hours each, my 360 leg sleeves (1 full, 1 half) and chest tattoos are all done. Could not have asked for a better experience as Kendall Vader is a gifted artist with a steady hand, experienced in mitigating pain even in the most tender areas of the body (i.e. knee cap, shin, armpit, etc.) The experience from beginning to end is as follows…
You’ll call for a consultation appointment and come in to speak with your artist (in my case, Kendall). During the consultation, it’s best that you have a solid (but not strict) idea of what you want, trust your artist, they are the professionals. As an analogy, your artist will not tell you how to do your job because you are the expert, subsequently your artist is the expert when it comes to tattoos, so afford them the artistic liberty to give life to your vision. You’ll be asked for approval every step of the way so if you don’t like something, you’re not obligated to have it tattooed on you. After your consultation, appointments will be set for your sessions, at which time you’ll fill out the appropriate paperwork upon entry, thereafter meeting with your artist who will have your tattoo printed for approval. Once you’ve approved, your artist will shave you, place the stencil on your body and get to the meat and potatoes of the tattoo experience. There may be areas of your body that are more sensitive than you’re comfortable with, express this to your artist and they’ll have ideas on pain mitigation, whether physical and/or psychological. I’ve personally found that Kendall’s conversational personality helped mitigate the pain I was feeling. That’s another, somewhat overlooked element of the tattoo experience. Kendall is extremely intelligent and humorous, paving the way for thoughtful discourse throughout the hours being tattooed. If you’re not working with Kendall, I can tell you that Mike is also very intelligent and humorous, there will be pockets of time when you forget you’re even getting tattooed if you’re working with either Kendall or Mike. JP is also a great conversationalist, though you’ll likely see him for piercings and not tattoos. All three are genuinely good human beings which is rare to find in the world these days. After your session, you’ll take a look at the results in the mirror, get wrapped up, pay your artist (don’t forget to tip, there’s a whole lot more that goes into this than just needle-to-skin), put your clothes back on and leave. If you have multiple sessions scheduled, you’ll simply rinse and repeat the aforementioned (minus the stenciling part since it’ll already be on you).
As a clarification, I’m not saying that others at Born Weird are poor artists or have bad personalities, I’m sure they’re all good. I personally have experience getting tattooed by Kendall and having conversations with Mike and JP, thus I am equipped only to speak on my experience alone.

Final Thoughts:
I’m covered in tattoos, neck to ankle. I can’t say that I’ve ever had a better experience than Born Weird and I’m confident that you’ll find the same. Just remember to trust your artist and communicate with your artist.

Every artist at Born Weird is amazing! I get all of my work done here. Some of the artists have long waiting lists, but trust me, the wait is worth the quality of work you will get. The artists are so kind and talented. The shop is clean and they always have fun music playing. I highly recommend checking them out.
