This is a "new" shop but with very experienced and talented artists. Jason is one of the most distinctive traditional tattoo artists in the country (not hyperbole, look it up!) and I'm glad Heart of Gold opened so that he could stay here and bless us in Colorado Springs. He is one of the few that you KNOW when you see one of his pieces, huge fan here!

Just saw Jason today! And let me tell you one of the best experiences I’ve ever had getting a tattoo! I have terrible anxiety and he made sure I felt comfortable the whole time and made sure I was happy. I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy with a tattoo before! And the shop is awesome, everyone greeted me when I waked in and helped me get up to Jason since it was my first time. 10/10 would recommend to everyone!

I have gotten countless piercings by their piercer, PJ, and have had nothing but good experiences!! He’s great at his job, incredibly efficient (which is AMAZING when you’re scared of piercings), and is the best at making people feel comfortable and at ease. Ive said it a million times! Jason is the best! I will continue to recommend him and make the ridiculous long drive just for the quality of his art! WORTH IT EVERY TiME! Myself and my husband followed Jason from his last shop to Heart of Gold and we are so glad we did! we make a long drive when ever we can just to get our ink done by Jason at this beautiful and homey shop. Clean, professional, and talented! its worth the 2 hours drive for us every time, and we will continue to come here and recommend as long as they will have us!

Awesome brand new shop with established talented artists. The place is super clean and has a unique vibe. The entire experience was slick and easy. I’m a tattoo newbie but I was made to feel comfortable from the get go. The artists listen to your ideas and wants but what I thought the coolest part was the creativity and knowledge that they bring to the table when bringing your ideas to life! I had only planned on getting a single tattoo but something tells me I’ll be back...thanks Heart Of Gold!

DO NOT GET PIERCED HERE !!!!! I got a nose piercing here and he pierced it completely crooked (it is angled noticeable forward on the inside of my nose compared to the jewel on top to the point where the flat back sticks out of my nose 100% of the time).
My fault for being high on adrenaline and only focusing on how the jewel sat on the outside of my nose. I didn’t notice how crooked it was until I got home. I immediately called to schedule a consultation on how to fix the issue. The man who answered the phone took a message with my name and number saying the piercer would get back to me. I didn’t get a call back, so I proceeded to call and leave a message with whoever answered the phone for the next two days. I was repeatedly told the piercer was “busy”. The 3rd day I called he was out of town. I get it that he has appointments, but I feel like the piercer new he messed up and is avoiding the situation. I will be consulting a different piercer to resolve the situation, but I don’t want this happening to anyone else.

I highly recommend PJ De Leon. Everything he used was sterilized. I was nervous and he made me feel secure, at home, he talked me thru the process, waited for me whenever I wasn’t ready, always gentle in every procedure and always with jokes to make you feel good and confident. Great environment! The picture was taken a day after the procedures so you can still see the swolleness.

I have never been to Heart of Gold Tattoo, however I have worked with one of their artists outside of the shop. Jason Herr did my first tattoo a week ago. He was very professional but friendly and made sure you felt comfortable. I could tell he was not just looking to do my tattoo for the money, but he truly cared about the end result, how it would look and how I would feel about my tattoo afterwards. I was very pleased with his service and would not mind traveling all the way out to Colorado again to have him do my next tattoo if I ever decide to get one. If he works for Heart of Gold Tattoo than I can only imagine this place has great service and a great atmosphere that would be reflected in their artists.
