Dark Star came recommended from a family member. I am sure their artists are good, but I called this afternoon to ask a question about getting a tattoo and specifically asked if they were open until 7, the time listed on their website. The woman said yes, they are. I went there at about 5:00 and was told that there were no tattoo artists there. This is my second tattoo, I take a really long time to decide on them and I get really excited about finally getting it. This was a major disappointment and, frankly, a point of confusion. Why is there no artist there during open hours? And why doesn't the person on the phone tell me "Yea, we're open until 7 but I suggest you make an appointment because we don't have an artist here at all times."

came here with high hopes of finding a good tattoo shop in vancouver. the only way i can describe thhis place is blahh. my artist seemed like he didnt want to conversate and not only did he not listen to how i wanted my tattoo to look i felt a little overcharged. 200 bucks for something that should have been 150 and i was blown off on my touch up appointment.
I dont remember his name but he had long dreads. Took him 45 minutes to do my tat and charged me 200 bux and didn't even complete it cause his next appointment was waiting in the lobby. Called him about a touch up, he told me to come to the shop at 12 on a friday and the place was closed...waited around for 30 minutes to see if he would show up and never did. Kinda pissed me off...not to mention he didnt sound very willing to do the touch up over the phone. Hope that guy doesnt work for you anymore is all i can say.

I've gotten a couple tattoos here from Terry, he is a great artist and always a professional! He gave me clear instructions on aftercare and kept everything extremely clean. I would recommend this shop!

Did my eyebrow piercing wrong, the bar kept showing on the piercing no matter how small I went. Eventually I took it out and don't plan on going back there for a new piercing. If you plan on getting a piercing from them, DON'T go on their special 8 dollar first of the month Fridays. They'll act sloppy with it so just pay the full price and pray they don't mess up.

Horrible experience. Drew a very simple semicolon and after three attempts to draw, it still wasn't correct, in fact the first attempt was backwards. So glad I didn't get it permanent. Artist was rude during prep, very rushed yet commented that I seemed rushed (I wasn't, I had the entire day and actually waited two hours until she was free). Crazy experience!!!
