skilled artist fair fees clean shop welcoming atmosphere

KC did an amazing job. He really pulled a rabbit out of the hat with some cover up work. Being sleeved and the location of the cover ups our options were really limited. To blend and cover and make it seem part of the piece is not easy and takes a very skilled and confident artist. His fees are very fair and his shop is nice and clean and welcoming. Make your way there and get it done! Do it.

amazing helpful incredible artist comfortable best work future artwork professional know what they're doing

This place is amazing, everyone was extremely helpful and Chago is an incredible artist who made me feel as comfortable as possible. His tattoo is the best work I’ve ever had done and I’ll be going back for all of my future artwork. His current apprentice, Sarah had great input for me and was extremely professional as well. They know what they’re doing and I can’t say enough about how amazing their work is!!

Professional Clean Shop Helpful Staff Great Experience Recommend

I had a really great experience here! Paul pierced my nose. He's quite knowledgeable and professional. Their shop is very clean and they have some pretty cool jewelry! Since my piercing, I've been in a few times for assistance and other purchases. They are always willing to help! I will definitely recommend people to this place if they are interested in any type of piercing!

Friendly Staff Great Products Patient Care Recommend to Friends

Loved the store, great products. The staff was friendly and the whole process was great. I love the fact that they walk you step by step through what is happening, how to care and clean your piercing but most of all be patient when you get a little bit scared!!!! Will recommend to all my friends and going back there!

Bad Piercing Poor Jewelry Quality Not Recommended

I went in and got my nose pierced last summer. The service was fine, no complaints. However, the piercing they gave me is terrible! It's way too low on my nose and doesn't look right. Also, the type of jewelry they use to pierce is extremely hard to get out. I wouldn't recommend this place, there are plenty of other places to get a piercing in Bellingham.

Poor Customer Service Unreliable Long Wait Time

I sent them an email to set an appointment for a couple of piercings, I went in for a genital piercing, which they seemed to have no problem with, and got myself sized for it and they told me they had to order my jewelry beforehand. After two weeks I sent them a message asking what was taking so long and they told me that their Seattle store didn't have what they needed so they had to order from Vancouver, a week a half later they hadn't given me word one about anything.

After 3 1/2 weeks I gave up on them and tried out chameleon tattoo and they did me THE DAY I walked in. Paul Tohill and his crew obviously don't care about their business or their customers since they practically forgot about me.

Since I have tried them I have heard multiple complaints about him being rude and unreliable. I don't know how accurate those reviews are but after my experience, I believe it.

EDIT: Four weeks later and they finally get back to me; too late guys.

Poor Customer Service Overpriced Misleading Information

Clean, professional looking shop, good jewelry selection, and they are quick to respond to emails. However I will not be visiting again soon. I went to Citrine in June for some assistance putting in a threaded jewelry end I already owned into my 10 month old conch, and to ask about jewelry options for a helix piercing that had healed crooked and had been bothering me recently. I am a regular client at my hometown shop, but I wasn't going to be back for a few weeks and I wanted to talk to a professional. The man who I interacted with had a very brusk attitude and seemed to be in a rush, even though it was the middle of the afternoon and I was the only client in the shop and I had an appointment. I spent less than 20 minutes there when I had planned for a 45 minutes to an hour appointment.

He immediately told me that I shouldn't bother with trying to save the helix piercing and that I should just let it heal up completely and try to repierce it at a later date. Okay. Then I needed to get a bar that was the right gauge for the end I wanted to put into my conch which meant going up one size and I knew that going in. He neglected to tell me until I was on the bench with the taper in my piercing that "Oh I see that your regular shop uses a two piece system, but we use a three piece system here, just so you're aware." I didn't find out until I went to pay that that mean I'd be paying twice as much! At my home shop a new bar is $15-$20. Citrine charged me $30, so I assumed that meant $15/piece. But it's already in my ear so what am I supposed to do? I paid and tipped him, but I left feeling like I'd been tricked. The bar he installed was also too short and made my conch (which had almost healed) into a very unhappy piercing, lots of blood and discharge. Two months later I switched out his jewelry for the jewelry I had been pierced with originally, and just now in November it finally seems to be happy again.

One last thing that bothered me during the appointment was he asked a lot of questions about my hometown shop, and I understand having some professional curiosity, but he scoffed at everything I said. You don't have to do everything the same or have the same opinions as other piercers, but have the decency to be professional and keep your personal opinions to yourself.

TLDR: Citrine Piercing has a shop that looks clean, a variety of jewelry to choose from, and they are very quick to respond to emails and to set up an appointment. However, they seem to have some professional jealousies, thinking that they have all the answers, and rush clients for no clear reason. Be sure to ask upfront about all costs before having any jewelry installed so you don't feel tricked like I did afterwards. I will personally be sticking to my hometown APP Member shop from now on.
