I had a great time here for my appointment with Tannis! The whole team was kind and welcoming, and Tannis did a great job taking my idea to make an awesome design. She took time to resize the stencil and provided helpful guidance on placement. During the tattoo session itself, she was very clear about the process and periodically checked in to see if I needed a break. Tannis and the whole team are some of the best tattoo artists in Richmond, you won't be disappointed!

i’ve been to many other shops in new york, virginia and other places around the US and none of them have the immaculate vibe that black rabbit does. it’s a testament to the owners and artists alike that they created such a happy, healthy space.

Very rude and sub par work. Went for my friend to get his tattoo and the owner is stuck up and a poser. She acts like she knows things about certain genres and Japanese culture but does not and as a Japanese male, I actually find it offensive. The line work was crooked as well. For the amount they charge, you would be very smart to go to a better and more experienced artist.

After a year of wanting a tattoo from this shop I finally got one, and what a wonderful experience it was! Tannis was great, and turned a brief description I sent over into a wonderful piece. Everyone was super welcoming and nice, and the shop itself is comfortable and very, very clean. A+ playlist as well. If you take your tattoos seriously you owe it to yourself to check out any of the wildly talented artists here.

I got my first tattoo here based on a recommendation from my friend. So glad I listened! My tattoo artist Red was very skilled and made me feel at ease the whole time. There's also so much to look at in the shop. It would be hard to be bored here even if you're not getting a tattoo.

Called in at 12:30 to confirm they were doing walk ins for the day. I had driven from Charlottesville to learn that walk ins are only for hour long pieces. I was prepared for at least two hours for some floral filler but was turned away… love the shop just really disappointed with the communication

Had the pleasure of having Raigan for a walk in tattoo with 2 other friends. We arrived roughly 10 minutes after opening and there was a line already which is to be expected. People at the front were so welcoming and helpful to ensure you leave with something with one of the artist. Atmosphere is superior to other shops considering this is open to all types of people and judgement free. Shop is surrounded by so many unique pictures and art. Raigan was super helpful in giving advise to the reference you give her plus getting a exact feel for how you want your tattoo done. Super sweet, patient, and makes you feel comfortable. We all had a great first experience here and booked 2nd appointments before we left! Recommend to anyone who is looking for a tattoo
