JJ is such an amazing and talented artist. He is super passionate about what he does and takes his time. From day 1 him and Darlene have been so accommodating. JJ has absolutely created a memorable experience for myself and my husband. We drive all the way from Jackson, Wy just to get tattooed by him. Prohibition is a beautiful shop with great staff, I 100% would recommend this place to anyone.

JJ is by far the tattoo artist I am most comfortable with the idea of returning to and whose work I am happiest with the result of. I got a cover up 3/4 sleeve done by him over the course of 18 hours in total. I constantly get compliments on the vividness of the colors and the uniqueness of the design. There are a couple minor spots that I wish were slightly different but with such a large piece being so gorgeous, the imperfections are so minor I doubt anyone other than myself would notice them.

Maddie was amazing and did such a beautiful job with my moms handwriting. She was so patient with me changing my mind and her work is GORGEOUS! Highly recommend. I will be back! ❤️

Prohibition Ink is amazing! JJ is a very talented artist and the tattoo shop is one of the coolest I've been in. 3 of us wanted something very simple and small. Darlene told me that it was no problem. She was great to work with when it came to setting up the appointment and paperwork. The shop had a very laid back vibe. I would definitely go back for my next tattoo and recommend Prohibition Ink to others!

I had been planning my first tattoo for about a year and researching places for a few months. I finally had my tattoo done with Rat. I wanted a large hawk on my back and smaller ones going down my arm. I gave him some general examples of what I like. When I came in and he showed me what he had drawn I was blown away. It was above and beyond what I expected. The detail is amazing.

Had an amazing experience getting tattooed by JJ! He is an impressive artist, and especially if you want a nature or flora/botanical tattoo- he is your guy! I am blown away by the detail he got on the peony tattoo on my chest - every time I see it I can’t believe it’s on me! The atmosphere of prohibition makes the tattoo experience (which honestly makes me anxious) so much more relaxing and enjoyable, and puts me at ease- from the hospitality of all the artists, the unique decor, and the private areas for tattooing. He even put on some tv to watch to help me have something to focus on. I have received three tattoos from jj and hope to get more! I am impressed every time.
You will not find another shop, or other artists, like this in Salt Lake City, it is one of a kind.
