I met them in Blue Lake, CA for our annual Inked Hearts Tattoo Expo. I had never met them in person before, but after looking through Tye’s portfolio on instagram I knew they were the ones capable of bringing a piece that I’ve always wanted to get for my dad to life. My tattoo took about 9-10 hours in one session and it’s still one of my favorite tattoos to this day, and I really hope to get more added to it. Becca is so kind and is an AMAZING shop manager, and Tye is a phenomenal artist. And not to mention such an adorable couple. I have never been in their actual shop, but I can only imagine the professionalism and atmosphere there is wonderful there (+ many more amazing artists), especially with how they handled taking such care of tattoos being out of state. I will be back and will always recommend Faces in the Dark Tattoo.

Customer service was great! Cat designed a cover up half sleeve and it turned out great, better than I expected! Every single artist at Faces in the Dark is phenomenal and each of them hold the shop to the highest standard. Best shop in Texas, hands down!

This shop has the best atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the shop is well kept and very clean. The artists seem to really enjoy their jobs and are amazing at what they do. So much talent in this shop. The artists are very thorough and create outstanding custom pieces of art. If you are considering a piece from any of the artists in this shop, especially Mike Flores, you will definitely not be disappointed.

This tattoo shop deserves the 5 stars and more!!! The shop was clean had a great atmosphere and all the artist were very polite and professional. I worked with Joe and he is a an amazing artist. Joe worked with me on the design of the tattoo until I was completely satisfied with it, which to me speaks volumes to me as I have had artist draw a design and pretty much say this is what you are getting. His attention to detail is what makes the difference in a good tattoo artist and a GREAT tattoo artist and Joe id great!! Every inch of detail on my tattoo does not go unnoticed and I constantly get complemented on my tattoo and how "IT LOOKS LIKE A PICTURE". Joe was down to earth and great conversation and made the time go by. He was always asking if I was doing well during my session and even allowed for breaks so that I could stretch me legs out from the long session. Overall I am OVER THE MOON with my tattoo and my experience. Joe made my tattoo 100x better then I could of ever imagined it and I will be returning to him for my future tattoos. I highly recommend Joe and all these artist they are all amazing at what they do!!

I've been to quite a few tattoo shops in my day and FITD is far and away the best! They are clean, professional and their artists are insanely talented. Cat has done one of my sleeves and we've started on my other. She's got amazing style and an eye for color.

Sorry it's taken awhile to post this Tye Harris! (I'm the guy with the Mike Devries back tattoo). I've been getting tattooed for over ten years by some great artists and visited many different shops. I got tattooed by Aaron springs that day and my experience was awesome. Secretary was very friendly and attended to me right away. Shop was super clean and Tye was a great host and made me feel comfortable. Thanks for the hospitality and coffee! To me this is how a shop should be like! Will be back at this shop for sure. This shop has super talented artists and top notch black and grey artists!

So many positive things to say about the whole experience! First off Mike Flores is extremely talented and just so very creative! A tattoo is a big investment and trust me, you want it done right the first time! I made the mistake by getting it done by the wrong person and was in desperate need of help!
Before I came to the shop, I had recently gotten a tattoo by someone that I knew and who did my very first tattoo 6 years ago. I thought he was going to do a great job, but he butchered the hell out of my tattoo. Needless to say I was extremely unhappy and bothered with the way it came out.
I went to many tattoo shops to get their opinions on cover up options and pricing, some were just plain rude and others just didnt want to mess with a cover up. Then I stumbled upon Faces in The Dark on the back of a newspaper at work, what luck right! So I stop in their shop to chit chat about fixing my tattoo. Let me tell you this place is just GORGEOUS! Absolutely the most beautiful tattoo shop that I visited and I visited many throughout Austin and San Marcos. You must check out the BLACK toilet, it will blow your mind! Everyone there was extremely friendly and the environment was welcoming.
Mike was a great listener and really threw in some awesome ideas! He really made me feel comfortable and kept making sure I was okay during the process. He did an awesome job, and I wouldn't go anywhere else for another tattoo! Our next session will be to add white decals to the face and a flower to finish the cover up, I'll post more photos once fully complete!

This place is great. Kelli was the artist that worked on my tattoo and there’s so much good things to say. This is my first tattoo and the experience was awesome. I met Kelli and we had some good conversations and he made a friendly and welcoming environment. Kelli was very respectful, kind, attentive and informative. All while giving me a tattoo that I can’t wait to see fully healed. This meant so much to a first timer like me. For sure I’ll be coming back for more and I truly recommend Faces in the Dark and Kelli

My best friend and I got matching tattoos with Jonny. She’s in a wheelchair and the whole staff was so accommodating and kind! We got a micro tattoo and Jonny did an incredible job. He’s so professional and talented! The tattoos look so clean and he really listened and applied what we each requested. I don’t think you could go wrong with any of the artists here!
