I went with several friends to get walk-in tattoos over the weekend. Myself and one of said friends have been tattooed at Lilac before and had great experiences. We arrived before opening (noon) to put our names on the waitlist and all four of us were 3-7 on the list. They told us it would be 45 minutes to an hour wait, which we were perfectly fine with. The hour mark comes around and we get no response or warning that it will be longer than anticipated. It was not until nearly the 4 hour mark that two of us were called up for our tattoos. I had a great experience with Skai and so did one of my friends with a different artist. Our other friends, however, were never called up. We waited for another 2 hours until we finally asked for an ETA. They told us that our two friends were next on the list and it would be another hour max. At this point we had been at the shop for nearly 6.5 hours without any updates on our ETA and had seen multiple people (also walk-ins) come in after us and be seen before any of us. None of our tattoos were particularly difficult (only mine had color) and we felt we were being ignored. We ended up leaving with only 2 out of the 4 of us getting our tattoos. I understand that if a shop takes walk-ins alongside scheduled appointments then there is going to be a wait, but the lack of communication from the workers in the shop was really frustrating. I am sad because I really loved this shop and everyone at it and have some great tattoos from artists working there, but the shop management is just not what it used to be.

Went as a walk in with my husband and showed them a picture of a phoenix that I want. They told me that they couldnโt copy the phoenix as a rule to other artist not to copy their work which I totally understand and she said she would have to make some changes to it. I told her I wanted it to be similar to the picture and we cold change up the shading and color. She then proceeded to tell me she didnโt like the picture and was going to make changes to it and once she drew it would show me how it looks. She did a outline that looked nothing like what I wanted and then got mad when I told her I didnโt like it. She then had another artist come out and talk to me about it since she didnโt like it and didnโt want to do it. Again I get that you canโt copy someone work but when did you start telling your paying customers you donโt like their design and when they donโt want to change it or get mad. Worst experience I have ever had at a shop!

Have you ever been to a bad tattoo shop? Did the shop make you feel unwelcome, was it dirty, were the staff mean? If you have experienced any of these things do not turn away from tattoo shops yet, let me tell you about the women owned shop, Lilac Tattoo Studio in Dallas Texas. Lilac Tattoo Studio is the best place to get body modifications, they are very clean, welcoming, and safe, and provide a comfortable experience for all walks of life and identities.
Lilac Tattoo Studioโs shop is exceptionally clean, including the ceiling, being dust-free and the bathroom being spotless. This is rare in tattoo shops around Dallas, Texas, so seeing a perfectly clean shop is very comforting. When I was waiting for my appointment, I was looking around and genuinely could not find anywhere in the shop that was dirty. All of the jewelry is organized, and the seating is clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean and very aesthetically pleasing. Seeing a tattoo shop be so clean lets me know that the artists that work there truly care about their jobs. The shop had decorations everywhere and even pride flags around the front desk. The pride flags help everyone know they are welcomed as soon as they walk into Lilac Tattoo Studio. I got a piercing there and the room I was in was also very clean and very well organized, it made me feel safe and welcomed. The staff at Lilac Tattoo Studio is very welcoming and kind, they take the time to answer any questions you have. I had some after care questions and before I needed to ask them, I was provided a really cute card that had all the after-care information I could need. They also offered to do a free jewelry change when the time comes to switch out my jewelry. I had a few other people ahead of me to get pierced and one of them was a little girl about 6 years old. She was getting her ears pierced and she was very nervous, every staff member that interacted with her was so kind and by the time she walked into the piercing room she was happy and giggling.
At Lilac Tattoo Studio every artist maintains a very clean work area and their setups before tattoos or piercings are done with care. I had some time before my appointment and I used it to look around at all the artists areas that were visible, They were clean and well kept which made me feel like this shop was very safe to get a tattoo done at. I was able to watch an artist set up their station before a tattoo and they did it with great care and precision. The work areas also have really cool dรฉcor in them, and it all works well with the ambiance of the shop as a whole.
The staff is all women which helps to provide a sense of comfort to women and feminine presenting people that they cannot normally find in a tattoo shop. An all women staff can also help men feel more comfortable because there is no toxic masculinity. The shop is also very open and clear on its mission to make sure everyone is treated professionally and walks out better than they walked in. This means a lot for marginalized communities because they can walk into Lilac Tattoo Studio and know that they will be treated with dignity and respect. I have been in many tattoo shops, and I would not describe a single one as somewhere I felt safe and actually wanted to be. This all changed once I went into Lilac Tattoo Studio, I felt so welcomed and safe and knew that they stand with every identity. This made the experience of getting my tongue pierced absolutely phenomenal.
If you every find yourself near Dallas, Texas make sure to go to Lilac Tattoo Studio! You will be met with the most amazing and welcoming all female staff, a very clean shop, clean artist work areas and setups and a tattoo shop you finally feel comfortable in. Lilac Tattoo Studio is a shop meant for everyone and all walks of life so go check it out when you have a chance. Your experience there will be amazing, and you will never want to go to another tattoo shop again.

Jay was AMAZING!!!! DMed on Instagram to book ahead of time and when I got there they had my design all printed out in a few different sizes for me to see!
It was quick, the studio is incredibly clean, and Jay was incredibly supportive through the whole process! Will definitely be back for my next piece!

I have 15 piercings and Leydi has done 12 of them. Sheโs absolutely phenomenal. I have sensitive ears and Iโve had a few piercings when I was younger that got infected and I had to take them out. She pays a great deal of detail to each of her clients and helps you place jewelry where itโs going to look the best/heal the best for your anatomy. She uses top tier jewelry (which again is going to help those with sensitive ears/skin heal faster) and has been super accommodating when it comes to ordering specific pieces I find on the juniperr website.
I get compliments on how pretty my ear piercings are everywhere I go. The credit all goes to Leydi. Sheโs taken flat curations my crazy brain has come up with, discussed with me the best places to put each piece, and ultimately brought my visions to life.
She goes above and beyond for her clients constantly. She has squeezed me into a full schedule when I needed last minute help getting a piercing put back in or cleaning a hole I got conditioner in that was on the brink of infection. Iโm genuinely so grateful for everything she has done to make sure I have the most comfortable/easy piercing experience.
If youโre in Dallas and looking for a professional, talented, and caring piercer, sheโs your girl.

Went in today as a walk-in and the wait time was pretty close to what I was quoted when I signed in. I ended up having Jay do my tattoo and they were very quick and made sure I liked everything from design to sizing and placement. The design was pure linework and they were great with it. Definitely recommend this shop and plan to be back!

The space is one of a kind and one of the best studios to receive tattoos, piercings, and a full list of other services. The artist that work inside this building are amazing they are hand selected and just great people. Iโve been with Dominique for years now and for her to open the studio is incredible donโt miss your chance of visiting this amazing wonderful place of energy.

Went in for walk ins with a few friends, because their appointments have a $400 minimum. We were there before they open and I was 3rd on their waiting list. We were told it would be a 45 minute to 1 hour wait, but after waiting 6 hours I still had not been called to consult on the tattoo I was wanting. At no point did they communicate to us that the wait would be SEVERAL HOURS. After six hours they called someone who came in after us up, so we asked for an ETA and they told us that it would be about an hour. It would have been fine if they had simply told us that the wait would be as long as it was.
