Implant quality jewelry, Association of Professional Piercers member Piercers, and the areas best selection of quality jewelry. Founded in 1973 by Tattoo Charlie, the studio has consistently been at the forefront of safety standards. Charlie was one of the first artists nationwide to begin wearing gloves, he pioneered the use of disposable tubes in the early 1990’s (most studios still reuse steel tubes to this day), and Charlie and his son Buddy helped write the regulations governing tattooing and piercing for the state of Kentucky. Charlie passed away in 2007, his son Buddy took over running the business at that time."

Dave took great care of me. I went in with three different tattoo images and wanted elements from all three. Dave was able to synthesize the three ideas into a beautiful tattoo which also included a cover up of a dumb tattoo I got when I was 18. This tattoo is a memorial tattoo for a few brothers lost overseas and Dave treated the tattoo with the respect and professionalism that it called for. Tattoo Charlies was already my go to place and always will be, you guys have certainly earned this veterans respect and business.

Came in Friday for my Tat. This was my 8th one and FIRST from Charlie’s. Pike was my artist, Tat came out BETTER than the photo. Had good conversations, made sure I was comfortable. AMAZING job. I will be back. This has been the best tattoo experience I have ever had. Will be recommending to everyone who wants one done. Job well done Pike. 👍👍👍. I took my daughter to get her nose pierced and let me just say that the customer service representative was amazing. She was so nice a detailed about the procedure and then the young lady who did the piercing was amazing as well. I definitely recommend this place and I will be back for sure.

All but a couple of my tattoos have come from this location and they are AMAZING. I actually just got 2 done today and am super pleased with the work done. It doesn't matter who is inking you there, they are well trained, clean and friendly and always have a great time.
Always the top place I recommend to ANYONE and will be back again... soon hopefully.

I went really close to closing time asking for a personal tattoo for a family member passing away Elli gladly did the tattoo for me. SHES AWESOME. Tattoo turned out really good. She has steady hands and she’s light handed. I would recommend her to anyone. She talks with you throughout the tattoo as well to make you feel comfortable instead of just sitting there.

I just recently got my 7th tattoo from here. Darin has done all my work. We are working to finish off my sleeve. He's a great guy that does great work, if you're a comic book or star wars fan you will love him. Very clean work and place. Highly recommend. I walked in this morning to be greeted by John. He asked how he could help. Mind you I've only had one tattoo in my life and it was 23 years ago. I showed him something I was interested in and he quickly sketched an idea for me.. He had an appointment that was a no show and asked what I thought. I said let's roll with it and he went right to work. He drew up What he saw in his mind . showed it to me. I agreed and he went right to work with a brilliant mind and a skill unlike any I have seen. A few smoke breaks later and I ended up with a sweet masterpiece .. This place is busy and just from my first visit I could tell everyone was quite knowledgeable and LOVE what they do. It was such an amazing experience for me to watch that stencil come to life on my arm. Truly amazing.. Will definitely be back!!

The best place in Louisville to get a tattoo hands down. My first tattoo experience was over 14 years ago and it was done by Tattoo Charlie himself. I was scared at first but he set my mind at ease. Everyone is very professional and artistic. That is why I have come back to get all of my tattoos every time. I will continue to follow them from Berry blvd to Preston Hwy. I have recommended the shop to all of my friends and family.
I plan on getting a sleeve done there. Excellent staff and management.
