Artful Dodger Tattoo CDA

Absolutely amazing Artists and shop, called made appointment right away with my tattoo artist Frank, he moved from the "Point"! Anyways, he asked what I wanted done didn't even question it, or suggest another artist he said "okay, when you wanting to book it?!? Now that's a real one, will do "any" kind of work! Last Shop I stopped at for my birthday to see if I could get App, told them what I wanted "Roses w/Shaded background on thigh." Well I got told by pretty much every person they perfer not to do flowers Unless it's "American Traditional' but anyways I appreciate an artist that's hard working, ready for anything and of course great work! Frank does Amazing work and also super perfetional! Only person I have let tattoo me after someone else's mistake! Thank you Frank and Everyone else at Dodgers

3 others and I planned 3 months in advance to get small, minuscule tattoos. We call 1 hour before our appointment to confirm and they inform us that our artist hadn't shown up but that we're on the schedule and we're good to go. Then we get there and they tell us there's nothing they can do since the artist decided not to show up to work. Luckily we got our deposit back. So disappointing. It sounds like they're the ones needing to give the deposits since it doesn't look like this is the first time a situation like this has occurred. Then we had to call all the other tattoo shops in CDA and Electric Age was able to get us in ASAP. Go there instead!!

My experience at The Artful Dodger was bittersweet. While my tattoo came out great, the service and tattoo artist, Jamie Graham were far from professional and anything but pleasant. My tattoo was a span of three hours, and she gave me one break. When I requested a second break, she insisted that I did not take another one. Note that this was my first ever large tattoo, and that it was a little over a foot long. After asking for a break and being denied, my leg twitched involuntarily a few times from the pain. Jamie then snapped at me saying to not move and that if I did she would have to keep starting over and that it would take longer. This happened a few other times throughout the process. I was pretty anxious as is with getting such a large tattoo, but unfortunately Jamie just added a new level of anxiety/stress. The tattoo shop itself is great, I know a lot of people including my boyfriend who have gotten great tattoos at The Artful Dodger. My boyfriend was present for this tattoo and was also very unimpressed with the professionalism, or rather, lack thereof. Jamie tried to keep him at a distance, would not let him watch and wouldn’t let me hold his hand during the most painful parts. As I conclude I would like to note that I had plenty more issues during my tattoo experience, but with my review being quite long already I will end by letting everyone know that if you choose to get a tattoo at The Artful Dodger, I suggest not getting one by Jamie.

I was walking in for an appointment looking for small space to fill. The super helpful gal at the desk was able to get me right in. She set me up with Frank and I’d 10/10 recommended Frank to do your ink. Great guy, great speed, great detail, gets you your money’s worth and just an all around great artist to sit with. He offered to touch up an existing piece that needed it. We ended up changing up my ideas of the piece from the start and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I will be back to finish this piece. This is a great tattoo shop. 10/10.

Amanda boik was my tattoo artist, her work with lines is simply amazing. Everything was done 100% professional and clean, she made sure to sanitize 100 times before finishing and covering. She gave me perfect care instructions and guaranteed her work for life! When setting the stencil, she made sure we loved the placement and design perfectly before even starting. I would recommend for anyone! She does amazing work.

I came in literally at like 8:30pm and Sarah did not turn my 3 friends and us away even though it was so late. It was one of my friends first tattoos and she did so great calming him down and making sure he was comfortable. She was extremely clean and was so artistic and creative with making our designs unique. I will recommend her to every one I know that’s getting a tattoo! Thank you again for an amazing experience!

Andy at Artful Dodger took good care of my husband and myself when we went to get our tattoos. He's bright, talented and has excellent tableside manner. I don't know that we will ever get more tattoos but if we do we'll see Andy.

My tattoo artist "Lucky" was vaping and smoking while doing my back tattoo, leaving a film of the leaking juice on everything he was touching, including needles. The tattoo bled out, and was the most painful tattoo I've had due to him not knowing how to position people, and how much force to use. He had me sitting up, leaning at a 45 degree angle, bent over awkwardly for what felt like an eternity. The tattoo is unrecognizable from what I originally wanted, and now I'm stuck with this for life. It was an expensive tattoo, very small, and got done by a botched job artist. I would never recommend "Lucky".

First tattoo experience at 32 years old and couldn't have chosen a better place. Amanda was super accommodating and receptive from the very first moment my wife contacted her and she fulfilled all our expectations. We loved the design and the experience. Thank you Amanda! You did amazing!
