Blue Lotus Tattoo

Mark did my first ever tattoo & I absolutely love it. I had looked all over Roanoke trying to figure out where I would go & I was really happy I chose to go here. He was really patient with me, especially since this was my first tattoo. I got some lettering on my chest done & wanted a specific font. He listened and I got exactly what I had wanted & envisioned in my head. His lines are super clean and I love my first piece. Highly satisfied.

Christinia is the best! I have been going to her since she started in the the tattoo business many years ago... she is truly an artist. All I do is tell her my ideas and she is able to tattoo it so beautifully, even better than I had ever imagined. Blue Lotus is so relaxing and clean, there is no other place I will ever go to get my work done, I will be a customer of Christinia's for life.

I took my son for his 17th birthday to get a Bible verse tattooed on his arm and I got something small on my arm as well. We had Evan as our tattooist and he was great! Showed us the tattoo he drew up before starting to make sure we liked it, he took his time and did amazing penmanship! We are beyond pleased and will be back to blue lotus! Worth the time and the money!

This is not the place to go for your first tattoo. I was quoted one price for 2 hours of work, despite the tattoo taking half the time I was still charged the same amount. Because I was nervous and not paying attention he tattooed the emblem upside down. The "after care" instructions consisted of the guy telling me "use aquaphor till it starts peeling." Now I have an infected tattoo and will require a touch up once it's fully healed. I hear great things about Christina but I wouldn't let Mark touch you.

I was looking at getting a tattoo here. But the political stuff all over the store kept me away. As a business owner you should keep your politics away from it. It’s unprofessional. Also I heard she won’t allow mask into the store. That’s extremely concerning and should be a health violation since we are in the middle of a pandemic. And the “come and take it” flag outside with guns all over it makes me and other people feel very unsafe.

Omg! Christina is amazing! I’ve been getting tattooed by her for over ten years. I will not let anyone else tattoo me. Every chance I get I recommend her.

i love love love blue lotus. I’ve gotten two piercings there (belly button and conch) and both times i went i had a very positive experience. I would recumbent this tattoo shop to everybody. The piercer is great and the tattoo artist tattooed my mother and did a very good job!

I absolutely love Blue Lotus and Christinia. There is no other shop I will go to for my work. Since I first found her she has done all of my work. She is creative, fun and takes the extra time to make sure her work is done perfectly and that you are in love with the work. I will continue to go to her for future work as well.

Third update: I had the tattoo fixed yesterday by an amazing artist in Idaho! She said that my skin was badly damaged by overworking of the area and it might take two sessions to fully correct. The blowout on the dots was due to too much pressure on the needle. She asked if the gal who did it was a new artist with little experience - I'm not sure. I just know that I will not go back.

Second Update: The business claims, thru the BBB that they always take a copy of the DL and sign proper paperwork. However, they will be unable to produce anything from me as the gal did not even look at my DL. Again, please stay away and find a more reputable shop.

UPDATE: it's healed and looks terrible. Some areas are scarred without color - NONE of my other 15 tattoos scarred. To repair it is going to cost me $135 for a $60 tattoo. STAY AWAY from this shop.

On January 18, 2016 I went to Blue Lotus Tattoo in Salem, VA to receive a piece from Christina. A compass in brown colors placed askew on my wrist. Shortly after arrival, Christina brought myself, my boyfriend, and his mom, back into the room to begin the tattoo. When I was trying to show her how to turn the tattoo so that it was slightly off center she was confused by what I was asking. I even took her fingers and tried to turn her hand, which didn't work so well either as she wouldn't move! Finally after getting the correct placement we sat down to begin the tattoo. For those who have had tattoo's previously (I've had 15 others) you may notice that a step was missing. Not once was my ID even checked and I never signed any kind of waiver of liability that is standard in the tattoo and piercing industry. She barely spoke as she worked and seemed distant (personality thing I guess). The end result was not of the quality that I expected nor that I would ever recommend to others. A small area of the tattoo is blown out, the lines are not all straight, and the tick marks are uneven. The color in the tattoo took very unevenly and the center of the tattoo badly scabbed – I can only assume that the needle pressure was inconsistent and areas of the tattoo overworked. I have never had a single tattoo scab on me or need retouching immediately after healing – this one does. As previously stated, not only was I not required to sign any disclosures but I was also not given any aftercare instructions. Her words were simply that I obviously knew how to take care of it because of my other tattoos. The tattoo itself was not a mistake, however the choice of shop was a HUGE mistake. From now on I am sticking with Shannon at Skin Deep Designs – a local shop that does amazing work including fixing this one.

I have had 5 Tattoos done at Blue Lotus. Christinia is the only artist that will put ink on me. Her attention to detail is unlike anyone. She is very friendly and a great person. She even donates a Gift Certificate to our Friends of the NRA fund raiser banquet each year . My Daughter also gets all her Tattoos done by Christinia.
