Absolutely amazing first experience getting a tattoo. I was pretty nervous and had a ton of questions, but Kat was incredibly helpful. Love this tattoo so much, I'm very pleased I went here. Very nice shop, and very pleasant conversation. She never made me feel out of place even though everything was foreign to me!

Went to Colleen for my first tattoo. She messed it up pretty badly. People don’t even know what it’s supposed to say. I very nicely messaged her about it and within in the time frame of messaging for at least 4 days she finally gets back to me with a day I can come in to get it fixed but says it’s going to cost 40 bucks. I’ve tipped well over 25% which I definitely don’t mind doing at all but not for someone who is going to mess up my first tattoo so badly then delay getting back to me only to charge me $40 for a mistake she made. This isn’t her first mistake either. I’ve heard of her botching other tattoos and also admitted to leaving out things on a tattoo because she forgot. Not only that though. The ink spread around my tattoo and it looks like there is a shadow of ink around it. It also looks like she’s got friends leaving positive reviews for her. So beware and I would def do my research

I sat there for 5 hours waiting to get my tattoo, when they told me they actually wouldn’t take me today. I really wish they would have just told me the couldn’t do it instead of making me wait for 5 hours. I understand it was a walk in but if it was well managed you would have let me know a few hours in advance.

Black Kat Ink is a great place to get tattoos. Colleen is a wonderfully skilled artist, her work is solid and beautiful. Able to work with ideas, designs, reference points, drawings, etc. the whole works. The rotary tattoo machine is very quiet. I don't feel the need to wear/bring earphones to drown it out. The studio aspect is awesome. No distracting background noise, good music playing and casual conversation if I choose. I most definitely recommend coming here if you desire or crave getting some ink.

Update: My friend that recommended her takes it back now. They got more work done and said that Kat intentionally went slow to make more money. Just want to give people more info so that you aren't wasting time and money. Seriously, go to somebody more efficient.
I wish I could give a zero. Basically, I was ghosted and then blamed for it. I won't go into it, but I would recommend going literally anywhere else to set your appointment up with an artist that is actually eager to work with you. You shouldn't have to go way out of your way and basically beg to get ink. And that's what happened here. Huge waste of my time because I didn't even end up getting inked. Just ghosted and then blamed for it. My friend even highly recommended her too, so my expectations were high. I've never been more disappointed.
