I had the best experience getting my first tattoo at Calaveras. I came in with my artwork that I wanted tattooed on me and Gerry made it a point to make sure to stay true to what I drew. He has a light hand and made sure I felt okay throughout the process. Great service and I highly recommend this shop.

Whether you want to walk in or make an appointment, this place is where you want to go. They’re professional but friendly and you definitely feel like you’re being taken care of and listened to. No matter the style or the size they can find someone that goes with you. Getting a tattoo is a really big decision and it’s nice to have a place around that respects what they do and puts in effort to make sure it’s the best that it can be. Every time I see my tattoo in the mirror it puts a smile on my face to know that I have no regrets about who put it on me. I’ve trusted Yvonne (insta: ink.fiend) for over 5 years with my skin and it’s definitely the best decision I’ve ever made.

Calavera's is amazing!! Very relaxed, they do great work, and they charge a fair amount. I had one tattoo redone by Gerry Garcia and it looks amazing! I also got an awesome Star Wars tribute tattoo done by Ryan Weis! Both pieces amaze me, I never get tired of looking at them or the compliments I get. A friend of mine got her half-sleeve here, and it's seriously bad ass. The color and detail is beyond repair. It's the only shop I'm probably going to go to while I'm here in SA.

This place is AWESOME. Let me say that one more time... This place is AWESOME!!! I got a stellar peice of art work from Cardee, she has a light hand and is SUPER TALENTED. If I'm ever back in San Antonio and want a tattoo, this is where I'm going. They are so clean, friendly, down to earth, and know the best taco spots downtown. Go here and get your work done by some seriously bad-ass tattoo artist.

I came to visit San Antonio and have had a tattoo before in Odessa, TX. I was wanting to do something memorable here, so we decided to get a tattoo. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was very surprised by Calaveras tattoo shop. Gerry is very professional and awesome at his job. I learned he has a bachelors degree in Art and it gives him an upper hand when it comes to tattooing. You can tell he knows what he's doing and that it's his passion. I was very impressed, I won't go anywhere else to get one again.

This was my first time at this tattoo parlor but o m g it will not be my last. The atmosphere in this shop is one that I will always remember, I wish my first tattoo parlor was like this but then I wouldn't have been able to go anywhere else - which is how I feel now. My artist, Francisco Garcia, was the b e s t. He was so thorough and didn't rush at all, it was such an awesome experience.
