Ink Gallery Tattoo

This place does not have a receptionist and when I walked in it was gentleman laying on the couch very unprofessional, I spoke with a woman by the name of Amanda, after waiting for a while. She had a attitude as if I was bothering her for walking in, I quoted a overpriced tattoo piece that should have never been quoted $300-350. After seeing her work she should still be doing some apprenticeship. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

If you go here do not get pierced by Kathy, I believe was her name she had green hair and eyebrows. when we went, she botched my sisters tongue piercing. She used the wrong size bar, she used one that was an inch longer than the one she was supposed to use, she marked and pierced the hole way to back on her tongue! She could barely talk, couldn’t eat, or drink water. It caused her to bleed and A lot of people I know recall that theirs didn’t and mines didn’t either. When I called to let the “manager” know he didn’t seem to really care and said he had it noted down. DO NOT GET PIERCED BY HER. Go to archangel down the street get it done by scooby he’s very recommended in the Madison area.

I went in for a consultation for a tattoo coverup. The shop does attempt to follow CDC guidelines. They do not accept walk-ins, and you have to call for entry into the building due to the doors being locked. The artist that did my tattoo was Amanda. During the consultation, she was not very pleasant and seemed annoyed with me for no apparent reason. She quoted me a price of $350 with a $100 deposit. I gave her a picture of the tattoo design and explained the desired look. She was not able to do the tattoo until the following Monday because she was going out of town for that weekend. That’s where I made my mistake. The design she drew up seemed to be done last minute, like thirty minutes before I got there. It was not what we discussed, and the flower was simplistic and not detailed at all. Not to mention, I arrived fifteen minutes early, but couldn’t come in until exactly my appointment time, which made no sense because once I got into the building, I sat there for forty-five minutes before she started my tattoo. The inspector was also there, so that could be part of the reason for the long wait. All and all, the tattoo does its job. It doesn’t look bad, and Amanda was friendly while doing the tattoo. The shop is clean. I would suggest researching before committing to an artist. The quote was consistent with other shops, but I could have gotten exactly what I wanted by doing more research.

I went to get a industrial piercing and when he went to make the first piercing he (James) completely missed the spot where he was supposed to put the needle. It bled a lot and I asked if it was ok and he (James) said that everyone is different. He finished the piercing and I went home and the first piercing that he made was really bothering me because I wear glasses and my glasses kept hitting it. I ended up taking the piercing out because my whole ear was bothering me. I tried calling the next day to tell them what happened and they didn’t answer. I would not recommend getting a piercing done here.

I just recently got a new tattoo here and Nate was amazing! He did a watercolor tattoo for me an it’s even better than I pictured it would be. The shop is clean an it looks professional. Everyone there is friendly and makes you feel welcome. I will definitely
Only be going here from now on for my tattoos and piercings. Thank you so much!!

I had a nose piercing yesterday. The artist was very sterile and personable. The shop was immaculate / clean. The process was efficient and comfortable. I experienced minimal pain. His home care verbal instructions were easy to understand and he gave me a hard copy to reinforce my understanding.The artist really made me feel safe in this COVID-19 environment. I love the nostalgic apothecary, artwork and taxidermy. Visiting the Ink Gallery in Madison was like visiting a museum!! Thank you so much for such an amazing experience.

Had been to the shop years ago, upon arriving was pleasantly surprised new owners and new staff place looked great and clean. Staff was kind, and trevor was AMAZING. I was getting my nipples repirced qnd he was able to do it better than they were done the first time round. Will be back for piercings. And hope that the new staff isnt weighted down by the old ones reputation

Called Nate over the phone to get a quote on a tattoo and his conversation on the phone was very nice and polite so that made me really want to go and get the tattoo. I went the next day as he was expecting me and I got my tattoo within a hour and 15 mins. The hour wait was appointments that he had and the 15 mins was the time you was actually doing my tattoo. This had to be the fastest great service I’ve ever seen. Nate lines was very neat and the red color I chose was perfect. This hand tattoo is now one of my favorite tattoos that I have. He has a loyal customer now!
And also Nate other employees was very cool and free spirited. The shop is a nice comfortable environment. NO LIES!

My daughter went in for a piercing and the ball kept coming off. I took her in twice to have it replaced but it would be off within two days. When mine was done, the ball stayed on for almost six months. Not happy! I gave them three stars because the piercing was good.
