Alter Ego Tattoo & Piercing

Went in to get my nose pierced last night. Dawn was so so nice, and made me feel super comfortable. She gave me advice on an existing piercing and was really helpful! I’ll never even consider going anywhere else for a piercing. I’ll definitely be coming back soon! (:

I will never get any work or piercing done anywhere else! This review is specifically for the talented, sweet, and beautiful Dawn. She recently pierced my nose. I was so nervous but she put me at ease and did a great job. She told me exactly how to take care of my new piercing and what to expect. I highly recommend Alter Ego! I love my new piercing and I still love the tattoo I got there too!

Really enjoyed the artist's work...on other people. I signed a waiver saying no refunds, I assume responsibility for healing, etc, and was charged for the *estimated* cost of the tattoo I was getting. Two (very) big issues: The desired tattoo we agreed upon initially before and after it was drawn was not what he tattooed onto my body, and after being charged for 3 hours, he only spent 2. Not 2.25 hours, but a flat 2. No refund. I'm trying to be reasonable and understand that an artist should be paid for their skill. His work is, in fact, very good. But it wasn't what I wanted and the business side of it is incredibly disappointing. I was asked to leave a review, so here is my honest review. Everybody in the shop was friendly, the cleanliness and organization were flawless. But I'm super upset about what I now have to live with.

Edit: I'm sitting here, not 15 hours later and I'm seeing early signs of an infection. I have had nearly 12 tattoos done in my life and none have ever been this bad, even from the dingiest of hole-in-the-wall shops. I'm praying to the Good Lord for some mercy as I type this, because I'm completely uncomfortable with how this entire process has gone.

And note: I HATE confrontation or giving a bad review on anything. I have been waiting for almost 4.5 years to get this tattoo done, and had 3 people refer me to this shop. So. Disappointed.

Second Edit: The infection calmed down and was taken under control. So we're good there. I was unable to follow the care guidelines the artist suggested due to an allergy, and did everything else I knew how to do based on the 12 tattoos I've previously had done. Giving another star for my review. (7/25/20)

Contacted the shop in advance to know if they did walk ins, they said they did.
I came in on Sunday and asked about getting my ring finger tattooed. I was informed that the guy that does fingers wasn’t there on Sundays and Mondays.
Fast forward to today, I called ahead of time to verify that he was there and that I could come in. They said yes, so I headed in, only to be told that what I wanted wasn’t feasible - which is fine. I asked for a band instead. He informed me that he didn’t have time today but could squeeze me in several months later. For a tattoo that HE SAID would take five minutes.
So, don’t be telling people you do walk ins if you don’t have time for a FIVE MINUTE tattoo.
Also $100 for a tiny ring? Seriously? Absolutely outrageous.
Thank you for wasting my gas, my time and my patience. TWICE!

First off, AMAZING. This is 100% the best place to get your tattoos done. ALL the artist are amazing. I got a mermaid piece done by Hilde. Hilde is gonna make it on Ink Master you heard it here first. Also, very professional and very clean.

Had Dawn do my septum piercing. She was wonderful and very professional.

I enjoyed my experience at Alter Ego and would definitely recommend them. Everyone was polite, the shop was clean and orderly. My artist, Brook, was very patient while we were setting everything properly and I didn't feel pressured or rushed - even though it was my first tattoo. High quality work; I was very happy.

I went to Dawn two days ago for my nipple piercings. I cannot recommend her enough. The placement of my piercings is beautiful, and she was so knowledgeable and friendly. She makes you feel so comfortable and explains everything very thoroughly. I had to return to the shop today because one of my bars was too small for the swelling, and she replaced it immediately and let me have both pieces of jewelry for free. I will never see a different piercer again! The piercing was a little on the expensive side, but knowing that it was done properly and I can see her at any time in the future is well worth it!

We were very pleased. They were able to fit us in as a walk in on a Sunday which we were really impressed with. The facility is clean and very professional. There was even a waiting area that displayed the artist's work on a TV which we really liked. The woman at the front desk and her husband were very helpful in making sure my husband got exactly what he wanted for his first tattoo. We will definitely be coming back!

Amazing shop with amazing people! They all make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in! It is very clean and very professional. Best experience at a tattoo shop I have had hands down. Their piercer, Dawn, is amazing. She is incredibly nice and I love my piercings! I would recommend this shop to anyone and everyone who is interested in a tattoo or piercing!
