Not gonna lie, was SUPER excited to get my tattoo done by Jonathan Wade. He was super quick with the consultation appointment I had made (I guess he had double booked that time slot) didn't really matter to me though as he seemed stoked to do my tattoo. Made my appointment and laid down a deposit without them even asking for one. When my appointment finally came I woke up SUPER sick with a fever and was honestly still contemplating going in and having it done anyways. But after talking it over with my GF she convinced me it wouldn't be fair of me to do that and possibly get the artist or someone else sick considering the current situation with covid-19. Called and left a voice mail message explaining the situation and haven't heard back from them at all. Extremely disappointed with my experience.

Edit: Subdermal has reached out to me after seeing this review to reschedule my tattoo. I will keep you posted and update my review as necessary.

Edit 11/18: Got most of my tattoo done, amazingly talented artist and very happy with how it's turned out so far. My first appointment was mid October. Just waiting to hear back from them to get it finished now😁

Edit: 6/4 Jonathan got me in and finished my tattoo as soon as he had the time. Very professional and very awesome guy. 5 stars all the way. Sucks I got in when they were experiencing some technical difficulties with some employees, but they made sure I was well taken care of. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get a REALLY wicked good tattoo done.

I've gotten a couple of tattoos from Ryan, he is awesome! Shop is super clean! All of the artists are really nice and professional. Anyone who asks where they should go, I always point them in the direction of Subdermal. These guys are awesome, super quality work in a sanitary and luxury setting!

I first got recommended to Jonathan Wade before I had any tattoos by a friend and her husband who both had gone to him for their tattoos. So I trusted them and went to him as well. He did not disappoint! He did such an amazing job. He's so nice and its like your just there hanging out the entire time. I went back alittle over a year later with my fiance and we both got tattoos for our daughter done and they couldn't have turned out any better. Highly recommend him to anyone that askes about my tattoos, which has been many people. Im sure all the other artists there are just as great.

From the initial consult to the end result this has been the best experience. I worked with Adri and I would highly recommend her. Her style is unique and absolutely gorgeous. I was comfortable during the whole process. The shop atmosphere is awesome and a welcoming environment.

I wanted a “Your Song” Elton John tattoo and Adri blew my expectations out of the water! I told her to listen to the song and create what came to mind and it was amazing. I’m super happy with this tattoo and I hope to visit her and the shop again in the future!!

The new shop is beautiful!!! I saw Ryan for a matching tattoo with my friend and he KILLED it! The entire experience has been amazing. From the first message, the extra precautions they are taking to ensure safety and cleanliness, the music.... I could go on and on. I’m so happy we went to Subdermal AC.... you will be too!!

Ira was super amazing and did an excellent job doing mine and my best friends tattoos for each other. He has awesome skill in that fine line work. Very impressed.

Very clean shop. Professional and update. Location is convenient. Raymond has done amazing tattoos on myself and friends/family.

Poorly done tattoos. Went in to the shop a week ago for 3 matching tattoos with friends. Firstly took a total of 6 hours for three quarter sized tattoos, including time to breakdown and set up in between. When we got home all of us noticed that the lines were wobbly and did not match up where they were supposed to despite the fact that a stencil was used. All three of us have had tattoos and know how to do aftercare, but a week later 2 of the tattoos are rejecting, one of which looks infected. The other is still red and swollen. We reached out to inform the artist and he blamed location and improper care of the tattoos, and offered a touch up once healed, but based on the quality of the original tattoos and the fact the all of us are having trouble, I do not think we will be returning.

Some incredible talent at this shop. The prices are reasonable.. Especially for the level of artistry they host here. I follow them on Facebook and I am so impressed with what they do. They're great with anything from a small personal request, to helping you flesh out a whole sleeve or wrap around piece. The environment is extremely clean and professional. These folks are serious about your safety and keeping clean environment. This is how a tattoo shop should be run. Easy to find also.. just a quick block and a half from 5th street.
