Blue Jay Tattoo: A Mixed Bag of Reviews
Blue Jay Tattoo is a tattoo shop located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The shop has received mixed reviews from customers, with some praising the artists' skills and professionalism, while others have criticized the shop's customer service and quality of work.
On the positive side, many customers have praised the skills of the artists at Blue Jay Tattoo. Several customers have mentioned specific artists by name, such as Sammy and Frank, and have complimented their attention to detail and ability to bring their customers' visions to life. One customer even described Sammy as "the absolute best tattoo artist" and said they would never go to anyone else.
However, not all customers have had positive experiences at Blue Jay Tattoo. Some have criticized the shop's customer service, saying that they were treated rudely or that their messages were ignored. One customer said that they had to cancel an appointment due to poor service and were continually harassed by the shop afterward. Others have criticized the quality of work, saying that their tattoos did not turn out as expected or that the colors were not what they had asked for.
Overall, it seems that Blue Jay Tattoo is a mixed bag. While some customers have had great experiences and love their tattoos, others have been disappointed with the service and quality of work. If you're considering getting a tattoo at Blue Jay Tattoo, it may be worth doing some research and reading reviews from past customers to get a sense of what to expect.

Most unprofessional place I have ever been. When I scheduled my tattoo i had to pay a $40 deposit. I was told it was to make sure i was serious and showed up (understandable). I had a tattoo scheduled on a Thursday afternoon, when I showed up "I was told the artistist was needed on the set of a movie and he wasn't there". I was never called or messaged to say that the tattoo would need to be rescheduled, however I gave it another chance and rescheduled for the next day. When I arrived the next day the shop was closed and no one was around. I tried calling several times and messaging the artist with no response. I waited 45 minutes before leaving. I went back the next day to get me deposit back as I had already scheduled my tattoo with another more reliable artist. I was told that the deposit was nonrefundable, which would have been understandable had I not been the one to show up. But seeing as how the artist flaked twice with no word, I think I should have been given my money back. On top of all this the chubby girl up front was extremely rude and they didn't even seem to care that they did this!

Customer service is absolutely unacceptable. I've had two family members try to get work done here and all they got in return was lost $40 deposits. Yes, that's correct. Deposits for "art work" that they never received. Apparently Blue Jay tattoo works "on the fly", pun intended. Anybody willing to show up and "wing" a tattoo isn't expecting quality work. Large pieces of art require significant thought on both the side of the customer and the artist.

Do not give Blue Jay Tattoo your business. I scheduled a simple tattoo appt about 1.5 weeks out with the promise to hear from the tattoo shop when my first draft of the tattoo was ready for review and changes. Less than 24 hours until my appointment, I had neither heard nor seen absolutely anything from the tattoo shop. I decided to pay a visit to see where we stand and was, unfortunately, not surprised to hear nothing had been done yet. I was then informed of "how things work" - "The tattoo artist will draw something up tomorrow before your appointment and if you need changes, he'll just do them on the fly". Obviously, not what I was initially told, nor is this an acceptable practice. Finally, I decided to ask for my 40 dollar cash deposit back and was met with a "standard no-refund response". Blue Jay Tattoo has a deposit contract they make you sign so they can do exactly this.... Let's hope the BBB finds this practice as unacceptable as I do. To be determined.
Don't give your money away here!

Went to Blue Jay Tattoo with a design that needed a bit of finishing. Bianca took my idea and put it on paper. This tattoo was very important because it was sort of a memorial to my hedgehog Pixie, who we lost in February. She did an amazing job. I will certainly go back for more.

I asked him to cover the words on my arm and he thought this was a good job. I trusted him as heβd done a tattoo for me before. Not sure what he was thinking. He didnβt even know which way notes are to be drawn. And the words can still be seen. I was highly embarrassed until I went to STAR and had a real professional take care of the mess. Donβt let Frankie tattoo you!!!! He charges way too much for this kind of garbage.

Was very nervous about getting my hand tattooed and unfortunately came here and got my hand destroyed!! Nothings centered, lettering looks like it was done by a 3 year old and he dug so deep that half the ink ended up gone after two weeks. Some of it was fixable (cost me another $100) and some was not. I will not be returning here and I DO NOT RECOMMEND
