Ahava Tattoo Studio

Had an great experience here this weekend! Everyone in the shop is so welcoming and nice. Very clean and bright place. I did have to wait like 2 hours for the appointment before me to finish up bc of some scheduling issues on the client’s end i guess, but luckily I had the time that day and honestly the wait was worth it. Rachel is an incredibly talented artist. They were super accommodating and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. They were really great to talk to and even sized up my tattoo to show more detail for free for waiting lol. I’ll definitely be back for more from them 🫶

Always enjoy every experience with Ahava or the owner Matt who does my work. From a full Leg sleeve, arms hands back and now entire head they have made this a piece of art work that I get compliments on everywhere. Shop is clean with a good vibe from all artists. This will always be the only shop that k get my work done from!

UNFINISHED TATTOO!!!!
First I would like to say that the work Matt did was excellent. Every other artist I have gone to in an attempt to finish the tattoo all agree he did great work. The design Matt made I was very happy with. He listened to what I wanted and made sure I got the tattoo that was great. My problem is he did not finish the tattoo. It has been almost 18 months and he has canceled every follow up appointment that has been scheduled. I have taken time off from work, got babysitters for my kids, and each time on the day of he cancels. So you will get a good tattoo if he can finish in the time frame provided. If he needs another day or more time don't expect the tattoo to ever be finished, because he will not finish. I am no stuck with an unfinished cover up tattoo and you can still see both tattoos. I am very disappointed.

Had gotten Tattooed by David and I’m beyond impressed. The tattoo itself is incredible and I’m so happy with the work he put in. Initially there were subtle things I wanted to change with the design and he was super understanding and easy to work with. The finished product and overall experience definitely has me wanting to go back. Everyone at the shop was so nice and pleasant to talk to. I can’t wait to go again!

I had a great experience with Rachel yesterday, they designed a custom dancing skeleton for me and it came out INCREDIBLE! it looks even better than i imagined-- there are a lot of great artists in the area for black and grey, but I am so glad that I went with them for this project. the level of detail and depth in their work is amazing, and they were so welcoming as were everyone else at the studio. during the appointment, Rachel made suggestions for the exact placement and size for the tattoo and I am really glad I went with their guidance. setting up the appointment and sharing my idea through instagram went really smoothly too. totally recommend

I got a tattoo of a jellyfish with flower tentacles. Alyx did such an amazing job that I literally kept stopping and looking every minute to see her work. As soon as I saw the stencil on my forearm, I was automatically in love. She is so sweet and was SO excited about doing this piece for me. It meant so much to me on how happy she was to do this for me. I haven't gotten a tattoo in years and I felt so comfortable. I already told her I'm coming back for something else soon. Her work is just beautiful. I have already gotten so many compliments, especially from complete strangers. If you're looking for an artist, this is your girl!

I had the pleasure of having @botatts do my chest. He brought back to life my old tattoo and executed my vision to perfection. Now my family piece is completed. The vibe in the shop overall was great. Every artist is cool and bring great energy to the shop. I’m definitely going back to Bo for more work.

This is my second time visiting Ahava Tattoo studio and it was also fantastic. I got a tattoo from Rachel and it was an amazing time. They added a little extra filler to the piece to make it work best with my existing tattoos. We talked about horror games and podcasts. I had a blast and highly recommend Rachel and the shop

Okay, so I have a good amount to say about this place. I’m going to start with the bad stuff first. I had been excited for the tattoo that I got for a while but sadly the experience was disappointing. I arrived at 4:30 for my appointment and did not start getting tattooed until around 8:15 because a client showed up late and I was never informed (the tattoo was not done until 11 pm). While waiting I was never told any updates or why I was sitting there so long. Once we started the tattoo the sketch that was drawn for me did not match my description so I asked for some changes (which was no problem) but instead of my artist getting straight to work I watched them walk around and chat with the other artists. In addition, I watched my artist take a shot right before tattooing me and saw packs of alcohol stacked in the back. I believe this extremely unprofessional and made me even more anxious than I was. While I was getting tattooed I was getting screamed over and the artists were partying together with some of the clients. I am not sure if I’m just one of the people that did not have a good experience or I was there so late that I was interrupting their party mode, but either way I was not expecting this. However there were good aspects like I did like my tattoo when it was finished, they had candies for when people’s blood sugar dropped which helped me, and I was able to go to the bathroom as much as I needed. The area was also very clean and the artist was friendly and talkative and would’ve allowed me to take as much breaks as I wanted if I needed to. This place has a lot of potential and I wish I would’ve gotten a better and calmer experience.

This is BY FAR the worst tattoo shop I have ever experienced. About 2 years ago, I scheduled an appointment with Matt, the owner, for a full back piece. The first couple appointments were fine. About the 3rd or 4th appointment, he started to cancel on me. This was supposed to be a 6 month project. I would schedule future appointments before I left, however, this turned into a year and a half. Matt cancelled on me 13 times. Specifically 13 times because I was keeping track. On one occasion, I was already prepped and waiting in his chair when he asked me to come back another day (mind you I live 50 minutes away). Another time, I was already on my way there and something came up and had to reschedule. I get it, things come up, kids, sickness, flat tire, but for something to come up 13 times is outrageous. As a paying client, I felt disrespected. Recently, a friend reached out asking about him, and I said his work was great but too flaky and unprofessional. A couple days later, she texted me saying he cancelled. Other artists here are great, but the owner is the absolute worst.
