5 Monkeys Tattoo

I didn’t get a tattoo here but JUST FYI- this place does NOT follow COVID protocols or safety guidelines despite what their website says, according to one of their artists. Just passing along the message to anyone that cares about this.

I decided not to get a tattoo here after talking with an artist who said they only put that form and information on their website because they have to and only wear masks to tattoo clients if the clients ask them and they do not require clients to wear masks. She told me this after I asked. Even though I decided not to keep my appointment after hearing this, I wasn’t that fazed by it, but I’ve since mentioned it to a few friends who were absolutely horrified - who knows how many people are in and out of there every day with a possible infection. And, if they are only posting those safety guidelines to cover themselves legally, what other hygiene protocols are they not following? To each their own, but seems a little sketchy and unsafe, especially to make people think they are following these rules when they actually aren’t :(

This is my new place, Mike is my new guy. He was insanely nice, open to any idea and stayed late to accommodate all three of us to get walk-in tattoos. This is the only place I will ever come. Clean, fun and professional. If I could come here just to chill and look at amazing art I would every single day.

My sister and I went in for our first tattoos and had a great experience with Kelly! She is very talented. It was a clean and friendly environment.

I got a Friday 13th tattoo from Kelly back in January. She did an amazing job and it came out far better than I had anticipated and with more detail. I will definitely be coming back for a bigger piece. I have several friends who got work done by the other artists and their pieces came out great as well.

Not really sure where to start on this one, but here it goes. My experience with five monkeys has been the worst customer service experience i have ever dealt with. I paid a $50 deposit for an appointment on Feb 13th at 12:00 PM. I showed up 5 minutes early to find out the artist Mike Bones had not drawn either one of the tattoos i paid a deposit for. What did i pay 50 for? I said OK I'll be cool I'll wait and let him do his thing. This is honestly one of the biggest mistakes I've made in my life. I should have just walked out then and ate the $50, but i didn't. I trusted mike to do a good job and he absolutely butchered my hands. I guess we'll start with the fact that he was supposed to write true love across my knuckles. He had 8 fingers and 8 letters total to tattoo. For some reason he decided to squish two letters onto one finger on each of my hands. He also stretched one letter on each hand across 2 fingers. This was not well thought out, executed, or planned. He did a rose on the top of my hand as well. Its awful its so far from what i asked for the leaves look like they were drawn by a 4 year old. On top of all of that within a month of healing the tattoos on my hands look about 20 years faded as you can see in the pictures. I understand touch ups are necessary but this is unacceptable. Honestly the most upsetting thing about all of this is that when Mike Bones was made aware of the situation he did nothing to make it right he proceeded to insult me. Great customer service, I reached out to the owner to see if they would do anything for me. The owner was condescending, rude, and standoffish. The owner of Five Monkeys tattoo has ignored my phone calls and emails. They have made no effort to make this right instead the gave me the middle finger. I highly recommended you take yourself your body your money to a shop where they actually care and take pride in the work they do. I wouldnt send my worst enemy here after this experience. Lastly if your planning on getting work done by Mike Bones just make sure you are aware his hygiene is bad and his breath is awful. If you enjoy inhaling the scent of human excrement i would go for it but if not find someone who brushes their teeth. Bottom line is mediocre work by someone who doesn't take pride in what he does.

Tegan Beyer has been my tattoo artist for 12 years. Her talent is top knotch; her designs are flawless and personalized. She is the consummate professional, and is also genuinely kind and personable. I highly recommend Tegan; Tegan Beyer is the only artist for me!

Always a wonderful time getting work done in the shop. Tegan usually does my work but everyone is welcoming and fun to chat with! I suggest to all my friends to go here.
