We are conveniently accessible via the Green Line light rail, right between the Westgate Station and Raymond Ave. Station, making us a convenient location from all major Twin Cities college campuses. I have been getting tattoos from Garrett for over 10 years and will not go to anyone but him or his talented team of artists. He is professional, experienced, detail orientated and runs a great shop. Black Coffin has experienced and talented artists – they are respectful, honest and really friendly. Whenever I go to the shop everyone remembers my name and makes me feel welcomed. I have over 15 tattoos from Garrett and I love every one of them – some of them are 10 years old and they still look great. Garrett can tattoo any style – I have Polynesian tribal art, all black tattoos, color and he does an amazing job with tribute/memorial tattoos. Often times I walk in with a vision or an idea and Garrett and his artists always are able to interpret what I want into exactly what I want. I will not go anywhere else and HIGHLY recommend Black Coffin!

I was able to experience the shop outside of it's home at Tattoo You Comvention and I had a blast. Garret was who I worked with and he was amazing. I was not expecting to get anything, but after a quick conversation about a shared band we liked I knew he was the one to work with. All the other artists who were there came over and he introduced me to them. I could not be happier with my experience with Garret and his team. Very kind people and a large, open space! Everyone was wearing a mask at all times. I got tattooed by Jesse Skaggs and he was really warm and respectful. Totally made me feel at ease the whole time and checked in with me periodically. I'm really stoked about my piece!

I’ve gone to Black Coffin for two tattoos now and the shop is really great A cool environment, clean, and I like that the reception area is separate from where you actually get your tattoo done. I’ve seen Jesse Skaggs both times and he has always been super friendly, accommodating, does good work and actually responds to DMs/emails.

The shop is extremely nice and clean (we’re talking like Hospital clean) – I was impressed right away with how spotless it was! The location is great and the shop is very large and open so you never feel cramped like some other tattoo places we have been to. The price point was perfect, prices were reasonable and we definitely feel like we got what we paid for. It was easy to set up an appointment and Garrett got us in quickly. Garrett was prepared and ready to tattoo before we got to the appointment so we were able to get started right on time.
The best part about Black Coffin was the customer service. I can tell that Garrett and his staff really care about their clients and give each person their full attention and time. Garrett did not make me feel rushed and he made sure I was happy with my sketch before he started the tattoo. I really appreciate his patience and commitment to quality. Garrett helped me feel comfortable during all steps of the process - he was easy to talk to, friendly and calmed my nerves about getting a tattoo. The artists at Black Coffin are truly talented. You will see their amazing art work on the walls. My Husband has been getting tattooed by Garrett for over 10 years and has referred dozens of clients to Garrett and they are all return customers and are completely satisfied. My tattoo looks amazing and I am 100% satisfied with the final product! The colors are vibrant, the placement is perfect and the line work is flawless! Garrett has many, many years of experience and it shows in his work - he is a complete perfectionist!
