Went for their 4/20 special. Don't know how they decided to choose which artists to do the special but I knew of Annie and Devan. I was worked on a different artist tho, I messaged him the next day expressing my concerns about the tattoo he did on my ankle. I wasn't too pleased with my 'cat' after all. He tells me he travels for work so he won't be at FS till the week after...I expressed my concerns about how the cat I got on my ankle didn't look anything like a cat...more like a rat. After expressing this he tells me 'yeah i think if we add whiskers it'll look better'... I've even tried to draw on cat whiskers on the cat and it still doesn't make a difference, still a rat. But I'm just confused why he rushed me out of the chair so quickly but was thinking that without expressing it to me right then that he wasn't 100% with the tattoo either. I respectfully asked him if I can get a second opinion on the tattoo and he gave me the OK. So I went to a different shop in Warshaw, they acknowledged to me that there was a lot of dead tissue buildup on top, he was so heavy handed he punctured into the third layer of my skin hence caused it to feel raised up. I'm a nude model, this 'rat-cat' will be exposed in all my photography images so I had to get a coverup ASAP. Waited two weeks, now we are covering it up with a sunflower, two-three sessions for the coverup to be completely covered , they felt bad for my situation and offered me the first coverup session for free. Sad situation but it will be fixed with patients.
I don't have a problem with this tattoo shop, there are artists who work there full time and are great artists. My friend also got a tattoo from the special and hers turned out amazing, Devan did hers tho so there was no doubt in his work.

My artists are April Nicole and Dane Smith and I have been getting work done by them for many years. Not only do they do imcredible work but they also have educated me in various ways to heal my tattoo. This would not only heal my tattoo quicker but it would also limit the amount of peeling/scabing and preserved the piece so over time the lines stay clean and the color stays bold.
Cleanliness is clear with these artists because before any of my appointments I would see fresh needles being taken out of unopened packages, proper cleaning before and after the tattoo, constant glove changes and dirty needled were disposed of in proper hazardous bins. The level of cleanliness shows how professional this shop is and it's evident they care for the safety of their clients.
The most important of all is that they keep a fun and welcoming environment. Even through those tough spots to get tattooed on you'll be laughing in between each zap you get. Plus you know the outcome with be well worth it.

I give 5 stars. Brian is the one who did my tattoo. We had a breast cancer tattoo party and everyone's turned out awesome. He did an awesome job. I would definitely have him do more work for me in the future.

Brian was the person who did my tattoo. At first he responded quickly and gave reasonable quotes for the tattoos that I asked to be quoted. I was a little skeptical as to why he could always respond so fast considering I would have thought he would be working but I didn't think twice about it till now. I gave him my number in the emails after all was set and done and was waiting on a sketch. A few days went past and still no sketch and it's now quite sometime after he said he would have had the sketch to me. I wasn't sure if something happened and he wasn't replying to any of my emails on the day of that I'm supposed to be getting the tattoo. I simply just called the shop and the lady on the phone confirmed my appointment at 3. When I get to the shop everyone seemed really nice. Brian explained that the picture of the sketch wouldn't go through in email but that doesn't mean he couldn't have called or texted or even just reply to the email where I had asked if the appointment is still on. So he shows me the sketch and I loved it. Long story kinda shorter... he overworked the bottom of the tattoo like crazy so much so I cant even make out some of the roses. The tattoo took a lot longer than he thought it would have and he had other customers coming in after me. Knowing this he rushed the top of my tattoo. There are many places at the top of the tattoo where he has went out of the lines, missed places and the line work isn't the best. There's one place on a pedal maybe where it looks like he just ran the tattoo gun over it once and that's all because there's just hundreds of tiny dots there within a inch(picture is attached). Also towards the top I have a green blowout where he went to deep into my skin. The healing process was awful. The third day I had huge thick scabs on the bottom of the tattoo where he overworked the tattoo. You can see where he missed a lot of spots with shading. Since he didn't plan time very well this tattoo was rushed, he gave me no time to look at the tattoo and say what I did and didn't like, and when I asked about aftercare he told me to not use fragrance lotions and that's all, then we were rushed out the door so he could help the people after me. My arm was swollen, red, and painful for weeks(it shouldn't have lasted near as long as it did). During the process he even told me he knows he's really kicking my ass with this tattoo because of time... he was doing the top part of the tattoo extremely fast. I took no breaks for myself and I never moved. Also he doesn't talk much at all (that's fine) but when you do talk to him he makes you feel like he wants you to stop. This has been the worst tattoo experience of my life and now I have awful scaring on my arm, and am embarrassed to show people this tattoo and I have to find someone new to redo the entire thing. Some places are so dark I might even have to have some lasered off to have it redone. I was going to have him touch up some of my other tattoos but we obviously ran out of time and I will defiantly never go back. I'm not saying don't go to Fountain Square Tattoo... I'm saying think twice about having Brian as your tattoo artists. You may regret it.
