Evil by the Needle Custom Tattoo and Piercing Studio

I've been going to Evil by the Needle for over 7 years at this point. Jon did my first tattoo when I was young and a handful of them since then, last time I was in we tried to figure out how many tattoos Kasey had done for me and it was over 20, Jamie has done at least 12 piercings for me- ears, nostril, septum, (under mask ones pre-pandemic) etc,- Sarah's done a few. Needless to say, I have been in their shop MANY MANY MANY times, and each experience has been great so I continue to go back time and time again. I've been to other tattoo parlors, I've gotten piercings from other piercers, but I always return to the crew at EBTN. The parlor is one of, if not the, cleanest and most professional tattoo/piercing parlor I've been in. I always leave with the best quality service. I've never had an issue with any tattoo or piercing afterwards, they're always very well done, with separate rooms there's plenty of privacy, everyone that works there is well trained and constantly taking time to learn the latest techniques (seriously, they go to educational conferences every year), the place is incredibly clean, everyone is welcoming and the jewelry is fantastic quality. It is easily the only place I would, and do, go in Bloomington and surrounding areas. I send all my friends here, and I'd encourage you to too.

I got a small nose piercing by the red haired women who works at Evil by the Needle (I think she owns it). The process of getting the piercing was professional and smooth, and I really appreciated how all my questions were answered.

After I got the piercing, I began to not like it after a few weeks. Not because anything was wrong with it, or I didn't like how it looked; I just didn't like the feeling of having a piercing in my nose. I tried to remove the piercing myself but was unsuccessful. I began to worry until one day, before my work shift, I decided I had to get this piercing removed! I left my apartment and showed up at Evil by the Needle in somewhat of a panic, and without an appointment, to get the piercing removed.....

Upon my arrival, I was met with a smile by the person at the front desk. I explained the situation, and that I had to be at work in about 30 minutes. After a few moments, the red haired women -who did my piercing- came to the front and called me into the piercing office. She popped out my nose piercing in no time at all, wished me luck, and then I quickly left for work.

I now realize showing up to a professionals place of business without an appointment and in a panic is not appropriate. I greatly appreciated the way Evil by the Needle handled this situation, and would recommend them to someone interested in getting a piercing. Jon and Jamie are amazing as a couple running a small business. Sure, we have had to wait a little while to get to Jon. He is a great artist and needs time to finish up with a prior client, or reset himself to assist the next one. Jon's work is well worth the brief wait. Jamie and her children will engage customers as they can. There are always people in the shop with questions or getting piercings. Jon has a very laid-back, calm but straight forward personality. You can give him some basics and he comes back with fabulous artwork that you can truly be proud of. I had never had a tattoo, and Jon was patient and willing to chat about anything to help me be calm in the chair. His opinions about an idea are honest, but never inappropriate or mean-spirited. My son was in the room while his dad got a tattoo and he was very against the process at first. Jon's willingness to answer his questions and great attitude opened my son up to being more accepting. I would recommend this shop to any of my colleagues or office staff, and often have. They are very clean, very open about their processes and I could not have chosen a better place! Jamie is excellent at her job. She is very professional, caring, fun and knowledgable. I recommend her to anyone that I know who is looking to get any kind of piercing. Honestly, I recommend Evil by the Needle for piercings and tattoos. They have a great staff!

each experience i've had here both tattoo and piercing related have been fantastic! everyone there is incredibly friendly and clearly loves what they do. overall fun environment to be in and very strongly recommend!

I would (and have) recommend this business to anyone looking for a pleasant and professional piercing. Jamie is awesome! She was super helpful and patient as I took some time deciding what and where my piercing would be. Its been over 30+ years since my last piercing so I was a little nervous! LOL. She gave me a couple options to choose from and was extremely sensitive to my budget as well. Its an extremely clean place and I love the appointment app they use. It gives reminders to the appointment and they confirmed the appointment right away.

I got my bridge pierced a few months ago by Sarah, and I can't say enough about her professionalism. She was very polite, kind, and made sure I was comfortable, and that the piercing was absolutely straight.
The rooms are private, too, which is a big plus for me.
13/10 would recommend.

Love coming here. They are always so kind, professional, and well trained. They work very hard to ensure you are satisfied with their services. The shop front was attractive even before the u-haul decided they needed a renovation and it's looking even more beautiful now. 10/10 would recommend

I LOVE this place! I have been pierced by both Jamie and Sarah multiple times for the past three or four years and every visit is perfect. The ladies at the shop are clean, honest, amazing people and the prices are great for the quality received. I have been to a few other local piercing shops before, but EBTN is hands down the best piercing studio in Btown. Can't wait for my next visit (:

I'm terrified of needles (despite having tattoos), and Sarah did such an amazing job at going through the whole process and keeping me calm while getting my ears pierced. You can tell the whole shop is very strict about cleanliness, which I appreciate. The whole process from start to finish was very professional. Definitely the best place to go for piercings in Bloomington!
