Bold City Tattoo

Sooooooooo. We went to this tattoo shop last week and myself and my gf got tattooed here.

I know she posted a review , but very strangely, it has disappeared ... and now all I see are good reviews. That must be convenient !

My gf got tattoo and was not happy w it. It was two words and she was immediately heart broken when she saw the finished product. It was hard to read , although I’m glad it was spelled right ? Most of the letter were solid except for the first letter was slightly off which made it hard to read. It was a little shakey and looked like it had a small cut in it as well. Most of the other lettering was good although one had been went over more and was thicker to hide some imperfections. Fair enough.

Upon completion of her tatto she was very disappointed and came to me on the verge of tears. I was getting tattooed by another artist so I tried to comfort her and calm her down as she was very very upset and just disappointed.

Her artist offered to try and fix it and thicken up the letter but there was no way she would let him tattoo her and that would have just made it harder to read anyways.

After seeing her dismay he did apologize and offer to not make her pay for it. She insisted that he take the money.

A few minutes later the manager came over and tried to console her and to rectify the situation , she was still upset and we decided to have the latter masters off and redone to be legible.

The manager (Donnie ?) also informed her that since she was so very unhappy she didn’t need to pay for the tattoo. She still offered to pay.
He said he was going to call the shop owner and see what could be done to fix the situation.

A few minutes later he came back. He told us the owner needs her to pay for it because “ nothing is wrong w the tattoo” .... ummmmm WHAT. ?!?!?

Your client is visibly upset. Literally crying and obviously just plain disappointed. She wanted some very simple script that was very important to her and that she had been wanting to get for a long time. She gets it from this artist and is crushed by the finished outcome but you are only worried about 60 dollars !?!!

This is piss poor management by the owner. I don’t know him never met him but he obviously is only concerned about money and not taking care of customers. Building and establishing relationships w people and or fostering to his customer base. He just wants money. The happiness of his customer is of no concern to him. I would never go here again.

Part of the tattoo experience is the interaction w the artist and the shop.

This one was awful !!!!! Do not go here. Go anywhere else. Hopefully they give a damn more than this terrible owner does.

I have been tattooed all over the Us and have interacted w lots of artists and lots and lots of shops. This owner is the worst I’ve came across in 20 plus years of being tattooed.

I gave one star because I could not give zero

Absolutely amazing. Got my very first tattoo from Angelina and she was perfectly pleasant! Told me everything I needed to know, checked up on me from time to time, and gave me the cutest tattoo I could ever ask for. 100% would recommend to anyone and everyone! ❤️

I love this shop. Vinnie has been doing all of my work now for about 10 years. He definitely knows what he is doing. The shop is comfortable, everyone treats you like they’ve known you forever, it has flat screens with something always going weather it’s movies or sports games, good music playing,what more can you ask for when you are wanting to get a tattoo?! Highly recommend this place.

I went to Bold City on 9/18 for what I thought was a simple tattoo. I felt the price was a bit much but was told that was the minimum. I was with a friend who really wanted to get tattooed so I agreed to the price. I felt she was also over charged for what she received. Since I agreed to the price I take responsibility for that. My tattoo took about 10 min if that. I really tried to be positive since it is permanent. But every time I look at it I don’t like it. I try to refrain from looking at the inspiration tattoo I provided because it makes me upset. I guess it wasn’t as simple as I thought it was. The stencil used scrunched up the tattoo and the artist went too deep at one of the points so it’s not a point but a dark circle there. I gave 3 stars because he was very clean and nice. This tattoo could have been done a lot better. This sucks but I have no choice but to make due. The artist was Chandler.

Update: Vinnie was about to make the tattoo look better. So far I like it!

My friend and I came here for ear (helix and tragus) piercings. Everything seemed to go well until a few months later, we got our piercings checked by APP certified piercers. My friend was informed that the Bold City piercer had for some reason put a NOSE RING PIERCING in her TRAGUS, causing it to get infected. A different piercer took one look at my double helix piercings and said "Wow, those are super effed up." My piercings are angled downward meaning any gem or hoop I wear will be crooked, and the downward angle caused bumpy scar tissue to form. We will most likely have to let our piercings heal up and start completely over again. Overall a bad experience for both of us!!!

Place clean, no clutter and Roosevelt is a very skilled and HIGHLY informative piercer! Had total of 4 piercings done.. recommend him 100%..!!! Xoxo

Vinnie and his team are the best. Great quality work, and a super clean, friendly environment. If anyone is in the Jacksonville area I highly recommend you check out this shop!

I went in as support and left with new ink I’m absolutely in love with! Branson is fantastically detail oriented and exceeded my expectations and Vinny is phenomenal! The entire vibe of the shop and cleanliness is superb! I’ve found my shop and already plan on my next piece next month!!!

Love Devin Maya’s work! I’ve gotten two tattoos from her so far and plan on getting many more. She’s got great customer service and is a truly amazing artist.

I love this shop! It is clean, professional, and laid back. Every artist there is so talented. They will take your ideas and make them into works of art! Devin always impresses me with her work and I will suggest Bold City Tattoo to anyone and everyone who will listen.
