Review of Alchemy Tattoo
Alchemy Tattoo is a tattoo shop located in the heart of Los Angeles, California. The shop specializes in body arts and has a team of experienced artists who are passionate about their craft. The shop has a clean and inviting atmosphere that makes clients feel comfortable and at ease.
The shop offers a wide range of tattoo styles, including traditional, Japanese, black and grey, and color tattoos. They take the time to listen to their clients' ideas and work with them to create a unique and meaningful tattoo.
While the shop has received mixed reviews from customers, many have praised the cleanliness of the shop and the professionalism of the artists. Some customers have had issues with communication and follow-up appointments, but these seem to be isolated incidents.
One customer raved about their experience with artist Niko, saying that they had no idea what they wanted but Niko's portfolio aligned with their own aesthetic and Niko's professional and calming demeanor made the entire experience top to bottom friendly, respectful, and rad.
Another customer had a less positive experience, stating that they had signed up for a Japanese sleeve and while the line work was decent, the shading skills needed improvement. The customer also expressed frustration with the lack of commitment from the artist and difficulty in reaching them for follow-up appointments.
Overall, Alchemy Tattoo is a reputable tattoo shop that offers quality work and a welcoming environment. If you're looking for a new tattoo, it's worth checking out.

I found out about this shop from Instagram. I've been looking a place that had artist that specialized in more than one style of tattooing. Turns out they have about 4 or 5 different artist. Their minimum was $60 (I think), which is pretty good considering the SilverLake neighborhood and it's big prices.
I ended up chatting with the owner who's name was Chris and showed him a design I was interested in getting. He was super nice and was able to get me started in less than 30 minutes from the time I walked in the door. The other guys that worked there seemed friendly as well. I got to check out all of their portfolios filled with pictures of some pretty impressive work.
The shop was clean, the people were nice, the music was awesome & my tattoo is rad! I will definitely be back for more work!
I will add the picture of the gorilla I got tattooed when it heals up! Thanks Chris!

After driving down Sunset and getting quotes at all the tattoo shops, I stopped by Alchemy and the guy at the front was really nice and made me feel welcome. They saw me in thirty to forty minutes and soon after I was lying on the table getting a new addition to my chest tattoo. I was a little scared about my tattoo turning out not as I expected (which is a fear of mine when you're OCD and a perfectionist like me) but the tattooist did a great job with the lettering and it's exactly what I wanted. Rex and Rus were really pleasant and I'll definitely be coming back for my next tattoos.

I went in to ask a few questions, walked in with a picture of the tattoo I wanted. First lady said she would be withme as soon as she finished breaking down. Other employees kept going in and out without acknowledging me. Another female employee approached me I showed her what I wanted and asked her how much it would cost she quoted me 175 ph and then said I should see a certain artist who would be best for what I wanted pointed to some books on the counter. First employee asked second employee when that artist would come in and I was ignored again as they begun to complained about their scheduled days. I just walked out, and left.

We went to Alchemy because my daughter wanted a tattoo as a souvenir of our trip to Los Angeles. She was very happy with the service and the tattoo! The place was super clean and professional. Next time we visit the area again, she wants to go back. Thanks Alchemy!

Jake is awesome! He did a tattoo for me about a year ago over at another shop on the westside, so when I finally figured out my next one, he had already moved to Alchemy Tattoo~
I wanted the words "alis volat propriis" in my own handwriting on my left wristbone. I emailed Jake with my idea and he responded super quickly and was able to fit me in on Labor Day Monday at noon, yay!
He smoothed out and refined my drawing and made it MUCH cleaner. The whole process took about an hour or so, and I love how it turned out! The only thing that I was sad about was that my friend who came with me couldn't come watch me get tattooed - regulations and all that, whoops.
Parking was super easy to find on side streets, shop is clean and spacious and the artists are all very friendly. I'll definitely be back for more tattoos :)
CASH ONLY.

As soon as saw profiles of some of their artists and then talked on the phone with Rex asked about the hygiene (single use needles, disposable equipment and licensed with the health department) that's when I knew Alchemy was the place for me. As for the customer care and customer satisfaction they're all class acts and very professional so it's a guarantee. I got not one but two tattoos done by Rex, thx again :)

Very clean place they abide all the health rules and regulations. If youβre looking for fine lines not the place to go, the needles are to big for fine line work. Went in for matching tattoos we were given different artists and our tattoos ended up looking different even though it was of the same thing.

Got a subtle racist vibe from 2 artist at this place. From the moment i walked in i got an sense of "not welcome here". And the artist was trying to charge me alot for a simple tattoo. I got the sense they were either price gouging me or just trying to get me out the store.

The tattoo artists were reluctant and annoyed to tattoo myself and my partner bc we arrived 20 min before closing.
We both wanted cursive writing and yet were discouraged from getting the tattoo that we wanted bc they had prior engagements with their significant others on valentines Day. Regardless the amount we were willing to pay they continued to discourage us from moving forward w what we wanted

Booked my tattoo appointment with Steve a month ahead and apparently he overbooked another appointment. He had his white secretary tell me he couldn't do a simple signature of my dad because he had a other appointment. Totally unprofessional. Didn't even treat me nicely but rather treated the other customer at the same time. She was white so they obviously treated her nicely than me. Silverlake and ALCHEMY tat suck. Super gentrified and racist. As A Latina, Steve disappointed me becaus3 he is Latino himself. Don't come here especially as a person of color because white people are treated with respected except for POC.
