I have been getting tattooed by the shop owner, Joelle, for nearly a decade now. My work is as vibrant and colorful as it was when it was first healed. If you are into traditional, geeky, fun, or even watercolor style designs, come to this shop!
If you're new to getting tattooed, guess what? It can be painful. Take care of your work and follow the aftercare instructions. If you do this, your tattoos will look amazing for years to come.

I get tattooed by Al at mortuary. He is so incredible! He wants perfection for his tattoos and takes his time. Al is very very clean and he is excellent at many different styles of tattooing. He will always make sure that you are satisfied before you leave. He's very professional and not at all cocky about his work. I would definitely recommend going in for a consultation if you are thinking about getting some ink, you will be super pleased!

My first impression wasn't great, hygiene was questionable. But hey I got my piercings, the piercer was very knowledgeable. They are healing nicely and no complaints over here. They have an awesome Friday the 13th special, and I will probably go here for all my future piercings.

The people who work here make this shop great. I am always pleasantly greeted by the employees and made comfortable while waiting for my turn. I absolutely love the options provided on their numerous special event days (Friday the 13th, 4/20, shop anniversary, etc). I highly recommend Sam Cox, who is a fantastic artist and is willing to listen and work with you to meet your needs.

Update: The tattoo I described in this review is healed and has scarred in many different spots and is tremendously blown-out. I talked with a friend of mine who got her sleeve from the same artist and she had the same problems with her tattoo scarring, being too dark, and being blown out. She is getting a couple laser sessions in and getting it fixed by another artist soon as well.
The shop is very nice and the staff is friendly. A very welcoming shop and most of the artists seen to do incredible work. Unfortunately the artist I saw was extremely heavy handed not only did she make me bleed a horrendous amount but the healing process of the tattoo has been awful. It's horribly scabbed and is inconsistent. I'm positive the tattoo will likely scar. I don't regret the tattoo since it was a cute design and it'll look fine amongst my other tattoos, but I do wish I had at least gotten a different artist or had thought to ask her to lighten up a bit.

Mortuary Tattoo is one of the best shops in Az, the artists are very professional and friendly. I've gotten all my tattoos from here and recommended them to friends and family, all of which were very pleased and have returned. I've also had my nose pierced at Mortuary, 10/10 this is the shop to go to for piercings and tats

I went in for a flash tattoo & at first my tattoo looked good, but after a few days of it healing, it came out looking like scar tissue. I highly recommended you guys to choose your artist carefully. Not all flash tattoos are worth it. This place has only bee in business for 2 years, so keep that in mind. I also got my tattoo done by the owner of this spot too, Joelle. Not worth it guys.

Love this place. They all do professional, beautiful, detailed work for an excellent price. Al and Josh are my go to guys, but everyone there does excellent work.
Side note: they have a tattoo vending machine where you can get predesigned tattoos (shown on the wall behind the machine, so no huge surprises) at random. Honestly, I wouldn't mind any of the ones in the machine, which says alot.
