The Roost Tattoo Studio

Glen is amazing! I’ve gotten two tattoos from him and have a third one planned in October. It’s about a two hour drive from where I live, but his work is totally worth it! :)

I am 61 years old and have never had a tattoo. Recently I lost a granddaughter to congenital CMV. Our hearts were broken and one thing I could do in her memory is get my first tattoo to remember and remind me of her every day. I told Clayton my story and showed him how I wanted to remember her. Her birth flower is a poppy (August) and I wanted forget me nots around the flower. I also wanted it on my left wrist where I would have held her. He did an amazing job. Could not have asked for anything more.

I’ve been coming to The Roost monthly for the past two years. I have nothing but positive things to say. The professionalism, cleanliness and work ethic is nothing like I’ve ever experienced with a tattoo studio before. It can be intimidating or scary walking in to get a tattoo. The comfortability and reassurance is phenomenal. You can tell they truly care you’re thrilled with your new piece of art.

The roost is definitely the best option for getting clean, bold, and professional tattoos in central Washington. Whether you're looking for a realistic, traditional, illustrative, geometric, or any other style you can think of, this shop has an artist that can meet and even exceed your expectations! I have never seen one tat come out of that shop that wasn't high quality and well worth the going rate of $120/hr. Glen Helm has done most of my work there, and he has been awesome! Not only are his ideas badass, but you can tell that dude and every other artist in there love what they do. Awesome environment and atmosphere. Everyone there was incredibly helpful from day one, and the overall experience was extremely comfortable and professional. Not to mention they have a 90 day guarantee on your tattoo, so you can always head back in to get it touched up if needed. Would highly recommend any of the artists there.

Clayton did an amazing job with my forearm piece earlier this week, and I can say for sure that I will definitely be going back in the future.

Glen did my first and it was a lovely little parlor, very clean and very quaint. It was really cute! The lights are really bright so if you are laying down for the tattoo and get headaches maybe wear sunglasses or something? But overall, love it :)

I have heard such stellar things about this studio, so I made an appointment with them for my first tattoo. I wish I had been walked through things a lot better though. I had to ask a lot of questions, and I didn't get to see or work on the artwork beforehand. (They should assume a newbie would need to think these things over for a few days.)

I recently visited Ellensburg to visit my best friend for her birthday. It was a surprise, and my plan was to get our matching friendship tattoos for her birthday gift. Glen Helm was unbelievably helpful when planning this event. He stayed in touch, got us in early because of timing. He drew up the most beautiful set of tattoos, and let us film the surprise for Kelsey. It was such a fun, and exciting experience for everyone. I will be coming all the way from Montana to get my next tattoo with Glen. Highly recommend him. He has a very gentle touch, beautiful line work and a positive personality.

I have been tattooed at other shops in the past and I can honestly say this is the best place by far. I was really impressed with the way Auzzy took the time to discuss my options. The artists at The Roost are second to none. If you want a great experience and an amazing tattoo, then you need to go to The Roost.

First tattoo and wasn't walked through it, just colored it in without letting me check the see if I like the colors as I only was shown the outlines. Lines aren't very clean and the color is patchy. It makes me sad as I paid a lot of money and I just wish the artist would have let me know he wouldn't be able to do what I wanted. It is also on me for closing the wrong artist. I'm scared of going back though as I don't trust their skill to fix it and my artist was very aggressive over the phone....
Also, the art is almost an exact copy of another peice I found online, I feel as though now the art is almost stolen?
