Brought my 11 year old here for a walk-in earlobe piercing and had a wonderful interaction! The space was calm and clean, the employees were welcoming and clear and friendly, the process was explained and carefully done. What a relief - an excellent experience from start to finish.

Drove from Maine to Grant my daughter her wish for her 16th Birthday.....for her 1st tattoo. When we arrived we discussed tattoo design and Rachel drew up an amazing tattoo...exactly what my daughter wanted. She quoted us a price of 250.00. We were then informed that a different artist was on his way to do the tattoo. Our appt was for 2.....meanwhile 230 Johnny rolls in. I explain that this is her 1st tattoo. He doesn't talk to my daughter at all but instead talks and looks at his phone. Rachel gets my daughter prepared and she tells him the price of 250. Meanwhile they have my daughter awkwardly sitting sideto on a chair feet dangling for a forearm tattoo. He never engages in conversation with my daughter. .once he finishes the outline he blames my daughter for moving for lines that were shaky. I stood next to my daughter the whole time I can assure you she did not move. He then began to shade and began ranting about politics. He finished the tattoo....and Rachel asked him to check us out. He charged 350.00 for what took him 45 mins. There are areas of the tattoo where lines are not finished and areas he forgot to shade. What could of been the most beautiful tattoo will need to be touched up and finished someday. Very disappointed with the customer service of this shop.

TLDR: Respectful staff, welcoming environment, and beautiful work.
I got two tattoos here last Saturday, one on each arm above my elbow in a simple font. The shop was clean, quiet, and welcoming. I was given very good advice about size, font, and placing. Jon was flawless, needing one pass on each letter. Rachel did a fantastic job perfecting the stencil placement, putting on the bandages, and explaining aftercare. It has been almost a week and healing has been going very well, I will definitely be back for more.

Rachel was extremely professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. She was ready when I arrived, she gave me some great thoughts on size and placement of my tattoo, and then she went right to work. She was fun to chat with. She's very smart and talented, with a positive personality. Her shop was clean, neat, organized, and quiet. This was my 11th tat and probably the least painful. I will definitely be going back to Rachel for future work!!! ππ

Went in with a half sleeve from another tattoo artist that I couldn't see anymore and wanted to finish it. Rachel took on the task and absolutely killed it, it looks perfect and it all looks like one artist tattooed it which is exactly what I was hoping for. She exceeded my expectations and the pricing was more than fair for the work she did. I'll definitely be going back for future work.

Brought my daughter to get her nose pierced for her birthday. At first sight the building was a little run down looking (multiple businesses inside) but once you got into the Strange Brew parlor it was very clean and well organized. The staff was great. They talked her through every step and was very thorough about the after care instuctions. The art work that we saw was very good. When it is time for another tattoo or piercing I will be going back to them!

This place is very good. My mom got her nose pierced a few years ago and it was great. Piercers were very gentle, sweet, and very good at their job. I 100% recommend Strange Brew!! I, myself, am thinking about going soon if they'll let me get it done. I asked my mom for this place because she said they were very good to her. So, when I would like mine done, I will be going here!!

I called to see if they could fit me in and they were able to fit me and my partner in right away. Rachel was kind, professional, very gentle and worked quickly to accommodate us. Our tattoos look amazing! We will definitely be back when weβre in the Brattleboro area.

Came here to get a nose piercing with a group of female friends, A family member had just went and had excellent service done on their tattoos, we walk in and weβre greeted pleasantly by the woman. She gave us all around great service. But the man who I presume owns the shop left everyone of us feeling uncomfortable and creeped out. He was extremely flirty with one of us who was clearly uncomfortable with it. He Called her Wendy bc she had red hair. Wouldnβt stop even when we asked him to and corrected her name. Even the woman who worked there corrected him. He was touching us unessicarily. Running his hand across our back to step by, and generally was very touchy while doing piercings. He was incredibly rude about my Touretteβs. I notified them before the piercing and on my paperwork about it and he told me to my face I was lying! Didnβt believe me at first and told me to stop swearing at him. He then asked me if I was put in a box away from all swear word what would I do. Excuse me sir????? I will never go back here.

Brought my daughter in for a nose piercing from Mass, she is just underage so I called the closest place in VT and got Strange Brew. The owner was very welcoming on the phone and we went up. The place was clean and Rachell was sweet and professional. It was a bit scary to have guns displayed everywhere and upon questioning, it seems as though they might all actually be operational. We did witness some of the gruffness by the owner that was cited in other reviews but all in all we got what we went for at a competitive price.
