It's a sad time for ASI. Losing the founder Don. Gave me my 1st tattoo and was a scary guy going in with my father at 8 year's old. The place needs alot of LOVE! Best of luck to the OLDEST SHOP IN SLC! Need some young talented artists to come in and change the atmosphere! RIP Old Man!

When I first showed up to the shop, no one was in the front, you could hear talking, rang the little bell they had out, took a few minutes for someone to notice we were there. I set up an appointment with Don I never got my ID checked. Then it came down to my appointment I had my outline placed where I wanted it and I loved it at first. Don had a very heavy hand, I was litterly in nothing to get this tattoo done I felt so uncomfortable and ashamed that I was laying the way I was and so by the time my tattoo healed I HATED it. I had thin lines like someone used a 0.7 mechanical pencil on me and I also had extremely thick lines on me that looked like someone too a jumbo sharpie to my skin. I absolutely HATED my tattoo until I went somewhere else to have someone else fix it. I will never go here again. The worst tattoo shop I have ever been too and seen.

I am new to Salt Lake City and was nervous about getting a tattoo from someone other then the artist I have back in Colorado. But I talked to Shane and he worked with me. We set an appointment up and I was late duh to work and Shane said it was and waited for me. Worked on me for three hours and created a wonderful tattoo that I can’t explain how much I like it! Shane’s a really good artist and I’ll recommend him anywhere I go. Thanks for a great tatto shane

I went to get a few piercings some and eve piercer was extremely unprofessional. He struggled ALOT to get the needle through my ear and my bellybutton he also had a my hard time getting the jewelry in which made it extremely painful. I would not go back here under any circumstances ever.

ASI is the original and real deal tattoo shop, it’s not an upscale “salon” nor is it a new age “gallery”. What it is is an old school spot where you go and get a tattoo. Don keeps it real and he keeps it old school. The artists are knowledgeable, friendly and skilled at their craft and is the home for those seeking a no nonsense environment.
