When I finally decided to take the plunge (after 47 years of resisting) I did my research. Since I like to support local business, I wanted one of the shops in the Milwaukie area to do a custom piece that I had in mind featuring my zombie novel's logo and my favorite member of KISS.
I visited them all (technically I did not visit one because an hour after they were supposed to be open there was still no sign of anybody and I gave up and left). When I walked into Star Tattoo with my wife, we were first greeted by the artist's mom who is proudly sporting some of Draygon's work.
After about an hour of talking with Draygon, I knew he was the man. He warned me about how long it could take and that with him being a one-man shop, it might not be as quick as I wanted. I gave him the stuff I had for him to use to create the piece, my deposit, and waited. It did take a couple of weeks for him to get to sketching the idea for my piece (as he warned) but it was worth it.
Once he got to work, I found that he was a blast to just talk to while he worked. Because of the size of the piece, I was there for a few hours the first time and then again when I came in for the finishing work. I saw him interact with a few potential customers and he had no problem telling somebody he did not think he was the right person for a specific piece and then referred them to a few places that might work out.
It is obvious that he loves what he does and is proud of his work. He is now the ONLY person I will be going to in the future.
I have since been back for two more and have several planned. Star Tattoo is the ONLY place I will ever go.

I've never been, but my guy gets all his work done here. The lines are clean, precise, and VERY well done. I'm considering this shop for my next tattoo, which will be my 28th time under the gun.
