CZER Tattoos & Art

Haven't seen CZER in over 10 years, but when I brought my son in for his first tattoo it was all love just like it used to be back in the day. And he absolutely killed it on my son's tattoo. I've since scheduled for my own appointment with him. I couldn't be happier I highly recommend if you need a tattoo in the Rio Rancho/ Albuquerque area.

Czer is AWESOME! Best dog gone artist in New Mexico as far as I am concerned. He really gets the concepts I present to him and turns them into exactly what I want! I have been a customer for several years now, and as I age, he understands how to work on my old a-s skin. I have several tattoos from Czer and love them all. Currently working on a back piece, which will be an affirmation of my faith, with important Bible passages to me encoded in the piece. Many sessions yet to go, but I trust my skin to no one but Czer. The shop is super clean and well organized. All supplies, inks, needles, etc, are opened in front of me, and I never have had any healing issues from this fantastic shop. Czer also does art you can hang on the wall, so stop in to Czer All School Tattoos and Art, and check it out. Awesome Artist and owner's! A+++!

Little background: I've been getting tattooed for the last 20+ years from the full array of shops, dirty trashy hellholes in the deep South and high end shops in NJ and lots of places between. For the last several years CZer has been working on multiple, highly custom pieces all over my body. Every interaction has been professional, kind and caring. CZer is obviously great with a tattoo gun, but more so he takes the time to get to know you and the reason for your piece and because of this the meaning of the tattoo shines through the ink. I highly recommend CZer and kindly recommend patience when booking. He is always booked out at least three months, which simply means that he is producing high quality work, and the wait will be worth it. Also, his shop is always meticulously clean, spacious, well lit, and relaxing, which just makes the experience of getting tattooed that much better.

I first met czer a few years back, he gave me my first tattoo. After I had a couple other artists and not having a good experience with them, i went back to czer for his amazing portfolio. He does such an awesome job and is extremely knowledgeable of his craft, definitely no games or bs with czer.

1st part is my review, 2nd part is my experience and why I feel this way.

1st:
Seemed like a nice guy and I'm sure his tattoos are amazing but it felt like his wife (I'm bad at names sorry) was condescending and didn't listen well because I'm young. She repeated the same thing about the design I wanted almost 5 times in the span of ten minutes AFTER I had said I wanted just one bit of the whole picture I showed, she even suggested the exact bit that I told her I wanted one of those times. If you're young and you live 30+ minutes away be aware of that before deciding to drive that long for a consultation with her.
Not likely to be back for a future consultation because it was not a good experience.

2nd:
The issue and reason for this review is with the way she acted towards me and the art from a friend that I showed her, nothing to do with how the consultation went beyond that.

It wouldn't have felt like a waste of time if I had been treated like an adult looking for an artist to get a tattoo with and not a child trying to do something impulsive, and if it hadn't felt like she was trying to talk me out of the design in the location I wanted even after I said there was a very personal meaning for both the design and the location. As someone who works with tattoos I would have assumed she would better understand sentiment like that. I also assumed that even if it couldn't be done there because of their personal policy she wouldn't try to make it seem like getting the tattoo I want as visible as I want would be a mistake, not just that I would potentially regret it, that's possible with all things. She kept bringing up how I'm young and how it's permanent and how removing tattoos isn't easy. I understand the hesitancy, but I should have been treated like an adult who has thought it through and understands these things already and not like an impulsive child who needs to be talked down from this decision.

This was my first and my son brought me. The people were nice and easygoing, even had me laughing. 😊

Went for consultation with my teenage daughter, it was an empowering experience. They showed her all aspects of tattooing and culture. Czar was genuinely caring of her decision and ideas; and advised her on how to manage future tattoo planning is essential in her painted body plan. Exceeded our expectations. We will keep them in mind for her first time tattoo experience 😉 Gracias, mi gente!
