From the business
"Downtown Tattoos & Piercings opened its doors to Frenchmen Street in June of 2012. The shop is owned by Terry Brown, a seasoned artist that has over 20 years of experience tattooing all across the country, along with his lovely wife Hayley Waldner. Besides sharing a passion for tattoo, Terry and Hayley are entrepreneurs at heart, and they jumped at the chance to create the optimal tattoo experience when the corner space on Frenchmen St. became available. In Downtown Tattoos, Hayley and Terry have created an atmosphere that makes one feel as though the shop has been around forever. They are heavily involved with their community, and they love to hold fun events to help them connect with and contribute to the people and causes around them."

When is it not a good time to get your VERY FIRST tattoo with your best friend?!? While visiting NOLA, it is always a good time to create lifelong memories and strengthen friendship bonds!
Bianca was my artist and she was so helpful and friendly and patient. I was a walk-in. She was so gentle when βpopping my Tattoo cherryβ and explained every step along the way!
Whether itβs your 100th tattoo or your very first, stop by and see what Downtown Tattoos can do for you.
Twenty years ago I was in Memphis at Downtown Tattoos (no relation) and didnβt have my ID. I settled for a piercing instead. Twenty years later, I found myself in a shop again, ironically named the same, and this time I got it done! Love it!

My wife and I went here for a tattoo and are both very happy that we did. The service was great from helping me decide what size tattoo to aftercare as well. Shawn was my artist and was awesome. He answered the questions I had and was very professional. He put me at ease as it was my first tattoo. I highly recommend Shawn and this shop because right from stepping into the shop everything was first class. This picture is with the second skin on. Also, the shop itself was cool and right next to a bar on Frenchman Street if you need a little liquid courage.

I saw that this shop did "Get What You Get" tattoo. After reading reviews I decided to stop in on vacation. I asked if anyone had time to do one. All of the artists had clients, but Bianca had a short break between two clients at 7, so they told me to come back. For a random tattoo this wasn't random at all. My great grandfather was Jewish. He escaped Poland during WWII, and the rest of his family was never heard from again, so we assume the worst. My mom's family is still Jewish to this day, so the fact that Kilroy came out of the machine could not have been more perfect. My other great grandma was a bit psychic, and passed down some of her sensitive/intuitive traits to my grandmother, mom, and myself. She is also the reason I'm obsessed with the paranormal, so the magic 8 ball was a perfect fit for me too. The tattoo basically encompasses both sides of my family.
Bianca was incredible to work with! She was so kind, and we had a great conversation while she was tattooing me. For a tattoo that she didn't design I felt like she colored it perfectly. I have a large American Traditional tattoo up my side, so I felt like this tattoo also ended up fitting the theme. Her line work is great too. I can't find a single flaw in the tattoo. I will be coming back to see her for another tattoo next time I'm in NOLA.

While visiting NOLA I came across Downton Tattoos. Jim was my artist and he really listened to what I wanted and the tattoo turned out much better than I thought it could. My expectations were high since the piece is a memorial piece for my late grandmother and Jim made it better than I imagined it could be. I highly recommend Jim at Downtown Tattoos!

I worked with Bianca and my friend worked with Sean! There are not enough words to describe how wonderful this experience was!! Completely kind, fun, tattooed exactly what we wanted. Very clean and welcoming space. If you are going to get a tattoo in NOLA this is the place to go!

Walked in on a Friday and they were very accommodating with walk ins. A nice and welcoming tattoo parlor. Every artist had amazing work. My friend got a big back piece. My fiancee and myself got get what you get tattoos and all turned out amazing still fresh, but I can wait for them to heal. Friendly staff, clean facility. I know they're use to alot of walk ins being so close to burbon street, but these artists are amazing will definitely schedule a time slot next time I visit.

I'd been eyeballing this shop for a while, as they've got a pile of good artists. It's about an hour drive for me, but my birthday was coming up and this was the first place I knew had a gumball machine for "get what you get" tattoos... No regerts! Friendly, professional, clean, and talented. My first experience here has been wonderful, and I can't wait to come back for more.

I came in Saturday night for nipple piercings and due to personal things I couldnβt get it done but I did leave with a beautiful hood piercing and Bree was AMAZING. She was so personable and honest: blunt and straightforward which I loved I would rather have someone tell me the truth than me get messed up with a piercing that donβt work for me. She talked and made me so comfortable and told me every step she was taking. She made me feel so amazing afterwards!! Love you Bree new time we come to NOLA we coming back β₯οΈ

JIM is a badass artist! I highly recommend their work! Took the time to perfect a large colorful tattoo and not only did it look immaculate, it healed superbly! If you want a good tattoo in the Quarter, go to Jim! Wonβt regret it π―

Super friendly and professional. Grabbed a gumball tattoo on a visit to NOLA and got treated with the same care as if I had planned a large piece for months. Clean and gorgeous space, friendly staff, talented guys. Will be back for more!
