Blackbird Ink is a tattoo shop and art gallery located in Longmont, Colorado. The shop is owned and operated by women, which is a unique feature in the tattoo industry. The shop has a cool vibe and is very clean and professional. The aesthetics of the shop are unlike any other tattoo parlor you have seen. The walls are not covered in generic flash, but instead, they have a gorgeous taxidermied mountain goat right when you walk in. The shop is very quaint and personal, and the staff is friendly and welcoming.
The shop offers a variety of tattoo styles, and the artists are very talented. Kirsty, Destiny, and Kira are the three artists who work at Blackbird Ink. Kirsty's work puts other tattoos to shame, according to one customer review. Destiny is an amazing artist and person, and she makes customers feel respected, supported, and empowered to make their own decisions. Kira's style is unique and clean, and she takes her time to make sure the tattoo is exactly what the customer wants.

This place has such a cool vibe. It is very clean and professional. Megan did my very first tattoo yesterday. She was such a calming and supportive presence and did such a great job. I LOVE that it’s women owned and operated, too! Will definitely be recommending to others.

I got a tattoo from Kira and it was a great experience. She was professional, very nice and took her time to make sure my tattoo was exactly what I wanted. The shop was very clean, with a lot of really cool art and items all around, and everyone else there was also super friendly and welcoming. Kira did an awesome job on my tattoo. Her style is very unique and clean, and I couldn’t recommend Blackbird Ink and Kira enough!

I went in for the first time last week, and from that one visit, I have a new standard in my mind on what a tattoo parlor should look like and be. The aesthetics of the shop were unlike any I've seen. I was awed just by walking in. Very quaint and personal. Other shops have generic flash all over the walls, but here, they have a gorgeous taxidermied mountain goat? right when you walk in. I have had several tattoos from different artists, and Kirsty puts them to shame in my opinion.
I have my second sitting in a few weeks and I'll update this with a picture of the colored tattoo.

I've been to Blackbird Ink for a number of different tattoos, and always choose to go back because I love the work I have done and I love the people! I've been going to Destiny for quite a while and have a number of complete and in-progress tattoos from her. I absolutely love the work I've had done by her. She's also just a great person overall. Destiny makes me feel respected, supported, and empowered to make my own decisions and ask for what I want in regard to my tattoos (and my life in general). Her work is beautiful, and I will continue working with her for as long as there's space on my skin for more! :)
Also, they're beautifully clean and sterile and I always feel safe and taken care of.
P.S. While I haven't been tattooed by the other artists in the shop I follow their work and have met them, and they too are fantastic people with DOPE SKILLZ. Blackbird Ink is 100% a yes from me.

In short: 10/10, Destiny is just FANTASTIC, highly recommend working with her! Love the shop vibe in general too.
In long: This was my first tattoo so I was pretty anxious, but I looked around a ton and Destiny’s work stood out. I came to her with a basic concept (birds and florals!) and placement (arm!) and really just trusted her to do her thing. Which she did! No BS, no ego, no pressure – just an awesome first tattoo experience and I love the finished piece. Destiny’s really easy to chat with too and the whole atmosphere was welcoming and supportive. I’m already on her books for another and I’d happily get another after that.
If you also dig her work, GET ON HER BOOKS! Zero regrets.

Kirsty did my tattoo from her Tarot Card project (the Lovers) and I could not be happier. Everyone in the shop was friendly, it was so clean, and Kirsty and her assistant kept checking to make sure I was okay during the process. Kirsty was so accommodating with my appointment, and so professional. I have already told at least three people to go - and I got my tattoo done last night! I cannot recommend Blackbird Ink enough, and I cannot wait for Kirstys books to open. :)
