The Helm is wonderful! I felt very comfortable here as a result of the kind and welcoming staff. Katie Gray has done several pieces for me and I am so grateful to display her talent for life. Overall a very professional, transparent, and reassuring experience. I will be back without a doubt!

Katie gave me my first tattoo, and now after having other experiences, I wanted to make sure others were aware of what happened to me. After sending Katie a request for a custom piece with approx size and pop of red explicitly called out, she replied and gave me a date assuring me she could do the tattoo requested. I didn’t expect it to look any specific way but when I showed up for my appointment, the design was 3 times bigger and did not include the symbolic color. After very apprehensively bringing this up, she did not respond well and did not want to adjust the design. She agreed to size it two inches down and I agreed even knowing it wasn’t what I wanted. While it’s quality work and I now love my tattoo.The rest of the time in the chair, Katie barely spoke to me and made me feel really awkward through this new experience. Since talking to other more empathetic and considerate artists, I know this is not the norm. Her work is phenomenal but I wish she took into appreciation that while it is her work, it is for someone else body and they should be consulted and heard.

DUDE! This was one of the best tattoo experiences to date. Katie Gray does not disappoint with her line work and creative abilities. Words cannot describe my satisfaction from my session with her earlier today. I would post a picture with this review but my arm is unfortunately wrapped up still from the masterpiece I am so proud to wear! Until we meet again...

Katie tattooed me while she was still in New York. To this day I get many compliments about my heron. She was also very enthusiastic about doing this piece when I walked in off the street to talk to her about what I wanted. We decided it would be best to come back a couple of weeks later when she had time to draw up a couple different designs. I hope to one day get something else done by her.
