Amazing place, absolutely legendary in the tattoo industry. Freddy and Heath are the guys I spoke with, both so awesome and it was such a pleasure to meet them after wanting to visit for years. The professionalism, skill, and pleasant demeanors are an experience everyone should have when getting tattooed. I cannot recommend Temple Tattoo enough and I cannot recommend getting tattooed by Heath enough, great experience overall.

I've always loved this tattoo shop. It's been over 10 years since I got tattooed but this place is still awesome. Very friendly staff, was helped immediately. I didn't have an appointment, luckily for me Natalie Phillips had 30 minutes before her appointment and was able to squeeze me in. She did a wonderful job with my tattoo! She was awesome and understanding. I will return whenever I'm ready for my next tattoo.

Honestly I left this place feeling cheated. I even offered an extra 20 on top of the fee they came up with for what amounted to a 10 minute arm tattoo. It was rushed and doesnt have the small amount of detail that the original picture had. I would post pictures but they keep getting deleted somehow. Dont let them cheat you like they did me.

Been tattooed by Freddy and Jason, and you couldn't ask for nicer dudes. Down to earth and very, very good at what they do. Get an appointment and get a sweet tattoo. Easy.

I am 100% happy with this shops customer service as well as skill. Some of the most skilled artists I have seen. Not to mention, 6 people in my party were hoping to get tattoos. We understood with six walk in we probably wouldn't all get taken care of. We are got taken care of and everyone is happy. This place is really clean and safe as well.

Great tattoo shop in Oakland. If you are looking for any pattern work, definitely hit up Dustin.

I am from out of town and wanted to get a small tattoo last minute before I left. I walked in, told the front desk what I was looking for and was on the table five minutes later!
I've gotten many tattoos before; the artist did a amazingly quick and efficient job. He was not chatty in the slightest, so I had plenty of time to listen to music.
The shop was clean and well lit. It was also surprisingly quiet for a Friday night! If you are looking for a last minute tattoo in Oakland, this seems to be the place to get it!
The reason I only gave this place 4 stars is because they are incredibly overpriced. I have a leg piece took over four hours to complete (with color!) and paid a little over $100 for some incredible and beautiful work. The tattoo I got today isn't even a fraction of the size and doesn't have color, yet cost the same amount. I was happy to pay it, because I got a piece that I will keep forever...but I was very surprised!

Why aren't businesses communicating better during covid-19. Weβve had five months to figure it out on how to get information distributed. Google maps says itβs open, and until 8p no less. I was trying to get something small, delicate and simple and they literally turned away a customer. Stating they were by appointment only. As someone who is from London and was looking to cement up until today a lovely 3 months in Oakland. When I come back will be sure to go to the other recommendation over the pond in SF.

Who: Worked with Dustin W. Great guy. Honest guy. Work speed - slow and steady. PRICEY.
What: Work was great. I mean, I got what i believe is a simple tattoo. Apparently it was too much to get done in one session. He broke it up into like 6 micro sessions. (Because of this, the tattoo is out of proportions and not accurate to what I wanted)
It was done very slow at times, then randomly it was very fast at times - towards the end of the session(?)
I wondered why was he still on the same square inch for 1-2 hours, then the rest of the 7 square inches we're done in 2 hours? It just didnt seem consistent. But I gave more chances. I insisted on using the same artist for the whole piece. He was friendly with good customer service skills in the shop.
Where: Great location, right in downtown, clean shop. Interesting upstairs area. ATM with a fee upstairs.
When: since April 2018-July 2018
Why: why 3 stars? See below.
Cost: Pretty normal. It started off great. Towards the end though, after seeing just how long it was taking, how many sessions needed for the small amount of coverage on the arm, it was a bit ridiculous to continue with this artist.
Design issues: I emailed plenty of designs. I was told a deposit would be needed to work on it. So why was my tattoo template simply copy pasted from what I sent? Why was there little to basic progress on the sketching? It wasn't edited or modified to look like the pictures I sent. He chose one of the easier versions of the drawing that had the least detail at first. I had to insist to use the GOOD examples. He wasnt happy to "redesign" and insisted I reschedule. It should have been done before my first session.
Wait time: While there was consistency this is what it was like. Show up, wait 5-10 mins. Wait 15-25 mins to have him make the simple copy/paste stencil. Get tattooed for 2-6 hours. Pay like 5-600.
Overall: If that sounds good to you, go for it. I'm not going back to get 2 lines drawn for $260 when I can get them done for $60.
