I had a consultation with Tristan for a sun/moon tattoo and asked him create a design for me and gave him a detailed idea of what I wanted plus some rough sketches. When I showed up for my tattoo, he had basically remade my rough sketches without the additions we talked about. I asked for a pattern inside the sun, no pattern. I asked for shading, no shading. He insisted on designing it in front of me (if that's how they operate, its not ideal but okay) but then got annoyed at every change I requested and made me feel rushed and like I was being rude for asking for changes.

After about 15 minutes of talking through it, he made sure to remind me that he had other clients that day and even laughed a few times when I asked for revisions because it seemed ridiculous to him that I wasn't already happy with the design. This was my first tattoo and I wanted to make sure I would like the design that was going to be on my body forever. In total, the revisions truly took around 20 minutes and I was not asking for too much of his time.

I ended up with a tattoo I'm not totally satisfied with because I felt pressured to get through the revisions quickly, and the most insane part of the whole thing is that he skipped a dot in the design. I'm planning on seeing a new artist to fix the design and add some elements I had requested but didn't feel comfortable asking for from Tristan. I originally picked this artist because I loved his work on Instagram and see a lot of positive reviews of him. Maybe I caught him on an off day, but I seriously left this place regretting the fact that I didn't just leave as soon as he started acting annoyed by me requesting changes.

Got my rook pierced here yesterday as a walk-in. TL;DR: Great experience, 10/10!

I have anxiety issues and am a nervous wreck at the best of times, even when I'm not about to get stabbed with a needle through sensitive cartilage. But right upon entry, the nice young lady receptionist was very patient and understanding with me as I tried to explain what I wanted done. Wait time was short, even for a busy Saturday afternoon. As for my piercer, Eric was awesome! He answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns, of which there were many. He is very skilled, got the procedure done quick and easy and with significantly less pain than I had feared. Super nice guy, great sense of humor too! Overall, I'd recommend this place to anyone looking to get an ear piercing done. Will definitely be back for my next one!

My husband and I decided to get tattoos spur of the moment. We were walk-ins and we found the atmosphere very welcoming. We did have to wait to get seen. Our tattoo artist was De Bo, and he was great. We showed him ideas of what we wanted and we were so happy with his final design. The process was fun and we had a great time talking with him while he completed the work. I left feeling elated with my tattoo and fully informed about how to care for my tattoo.

I have been going to Living Canvas Tattoos since 2011 for every single tattoo I have. I have always been very impressed with the clean studio and the folks there had always been friendly to me in the past. I always had great experiences getting tattooed there and has always recommended Living Canvas to anyone looking for a tattoo.

I was recently in Living Canvas a few weeks ago, however, and based on the experience I had, I am not sure I want to go back again. I was walking in to get a small tattoo and was waiting to be next in line for a few hours. I don't mind waiting at all as I knew there is always a chance of waiting for awhile when walking in. I was waiting by the wall near the door that serves as the entrance/exit. After being there a while, I leaned back against the wall and accidentally hit the light switches on the wall that turned off the studio lights briefly before they came back on when I removed myself from the wall. It was a complete accident and I apologized right away and backed away from the wall while I continued to wait. At first, the front desk person was rather rude when she told me not to hit the light switch as the lights turning on and off can cause the artists to startle while giving a tattoo. I completely understood and apologized for the accident. A few moments later, Mark called for me to move farther away from the wall as the fans were accidentally turned off, which he came over to turn on. He gave me a nasty look and shook his head at me, however, which made me feel very uncomfortable as it was a complete accident on my part and I apologized for accidentally bumping into the switches on the wall.

I was still waiting to get my tattoo from the next available artist when Mark left through the front door to go home for the day, and on his way out, he flipped one of the switches up and down rapidly on his way out as if to mock me and make me feel like an idiot for accidentally bumping into the switches, to which the front desk person laughed and shook her head.

I felt so unwelcome and felt I was treated so rudely that I am unsure if I want to go back again.

I will give Living Canvas a 3-star review, however, as they are a really great shop! I realize this was just an isolated experience and maybe I just caught Mark on a really bad day, but the experience soured my opinion of the shop so much I might be looking for a new shop moving forward. Overall, that has been the only bad experience I have had at the shop though, and everyone else I have interacted with outside of the two folks on that one day have been very kind and respectful for every tattoo I have ever gotten!

This was my second time going into this shop for a walk in, but my first time getting tattooed by Eric! He was stellar! I wanted a very fine-line tattoo of a deck of cards and he went above and beyond! Eric took the time to listen to what I wanted in the tattoo, he offered suggestions the whole time which ended up making the tattoo look even better! When it came to sticking the stencil he was so meticulous to make sure the lines looked perfect before he even started tattooing. I will absolutely be going back to see him again. (My tattoo is still wrapped in saniderm, but I will add a picture once it’s healed)!

Highly recommend Eric for fine-line tattoos his work is excellent and he was awesome to work with during the whole process! Thank you.

1st off they were very professional and clean. It was my 1st tattoo and Jake Granberry was my artist. He made the entire process easy. Telling me what he was was doing and explaining the process as he was going. He gave me breaks as needed during the tattoo and showed me proper after care. I 100% will be getting my next tattoo here.

Everyone at the shop was stellar! From reception, design, detail, attitudes and outcome of tattoos this shop is #1! Amazing atmosphere, very experienced artist! Very reasonably priced and accommodating as well! If you’re looking to get tattooed Living Canvas is the place to go!

Had an amazing experience with the artist Debo! A such super respectful and chill person who understood where I wanted to go take my tat! We basically freehanded it and came up with some details on the spot. Great communication and experience with the shop overall!

Tristan tattooed my dogs on my shoulders as my first tattoos. They’re full body greyscale, not just faces. They are absolutely amazing and I couldn’t be happier.

He was able to take multiple pictures of what I “sort of” wanted and provided an amazing outcome.

He even finished them in half the quoted time.

I’d give more stars if possible. I really could not be any happier. Thank you so much Living Canvas and Tristan!
